Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Introducing 'Dalton', one very handsome and gentle giant with gorgeous amber eyes.  While he's calm and well behaved around other dogs and loves attention from people, he makes it abundantly clear that he prefers not to be confined to a cage.  He is house trained and has good manners inside the house other than the occasional taking of socks left on the floor to his bed.  He does not chew things up but just takes them to his bed.  We're not sure if he's had experience guarding livestock, he does get along well with other dogs and cats.  He does like to spend some time outside when the weather is cool but prefers being inside with cool ac when  it is hot outside.  As you can see from his photos, his natural coat is long and luxurious, but he needed to be groomed and so was shaved early for warmer weather. Like all our rescue dogs, Dalton is neutered and up to date on vaccinations, worming, flea control and heartworm prevention.  His adoption fee is only $125.00 which includes a LIFETIME microchip registration with HomeAgain.  If you'd love to claim this very special canine for your own, please click on the green arrow icon near the top of the page to submit an online adoption application (no cost or obligation).    Thanks for thinking rescue! Story
This is Daisy, she is a Great Pyrenees, I found her at the street. I couldn’t find a shelter for her, but a shelter offered to pay for her spay and now is fully recovered. I got her vaccines done as well. She is a sweet loving and affectionate dog. She enjoys car rides and snuggles. She is also potty trained. Daisy only uses the restroom outside in the yard. She knows the command sit. She likes walks in the park and is friendly to other animals as well. She has played with other dogs and gets along great. She likes to fetch outside and lots of belly rubbings too. I want her to find a loving home because she deserves it. I have brought her back to health since I rescued her and I am very proud of her and I want her to get a family who will adore her. She is one year old. I have taken her to get professionally groomed a few times already and does wonderful getting her haircut and nails trimmed. Her favorite at home activity is chewing a dog bone.

Story
Bear was born 02/14/24 on a farm from where he was adopted by me. He is very sweet, energetic, and loyal. Bear loves to play tug-of-war, keep away, go on walks, and cuddle. He has some destructive habits when left unattended at times.(usually wooden materials) Bear has a tendency to growl or bark at children/infants and men. This is the main issue on why I have decided it’s best for him to be rehomed. He shows strong protective traits such as barking at potential threats to his territory. Bear has the notorious stubbornness of a GP, it’s funny, for the most part. Bear is still very young and with a strong and loving owner, I believe he can be a great guardian dog for livestock, and a great companion.

🐾 Meet Kalei — The Fluffy, Lovable, Adventure-Ready Goofball! 🐾Great Pyrenees & Shepherd Mix | 130 lbs of Pure Love | Part Dog, Part Teddy BearOH. MY. DOG. Have you ever wished for a giant, snuggly best friend who thinks she’s a lap dog? Then let us introduce you to Kalei — a sweet, goofy, gentle giant who brings the fun and the fluff.Kalei is the ultimate combo of playful puppy and wise old soul. She adores her little dog friends (even the bossy Chihuahuas), happily shares her toys, and will melt your heart with her famous "lean of love" — though at 127 pounds, consider yourself warned: this is a full-body experience. Some of Kalei’s favorite things:🎾 Playdates with doggy pals🛏️ Sprawling on her giant orthopedic bed like royalty🚗 Car rides with the windows down (ear flaps optional)🌲 Exploring new walking trails with her humans in towShe’s crate-trained, knows how to sit, and is brushing up on her trick repertoire — mostly so she can politely request snacks.Fun fact: Kalei is part bionic! After a rough start (she was hit by a car as a pup), she had a hip replacement and healed like a total champ. Now she’s running, romping, and keeping up with the pack like the superhero she is.What Kalei really wants now is a forever family — ideally with another doggy buddy — and a human or two who will let her lean on them (literally and emotionally). If you’re looking for a giant heart wrapped in soft fur, Kalei is ready to be your adventure buddy, couch companion, and oversized shadow.👉 Apply to adopt Kalei — she’s ready to fill your life with love, laughs, and just a little bit of drool.AARF Houston transports to approved adopters outside of Texas.

Story
Meet Daisy! A friendly, well-trained, and active Great Pyrenees Shepherd. Daisy was adopted through Aggieland Humane Society in 2021 when she was a 1 year old. Since then, she has put on a healthy amount of weight. Her training includes commands such as Sit, Down, and Stay which are used daily during her mealtimes. She is also trained for walks with no tugging or pulling and is friendly towards people and animals while on walks. Daisy enjoys bathing in the sun, playing fetch, pets, and running in the backyard. She has always been kind and friendly towards other dogs (small/large), cats, visitors, & small livestock (ex: Chickens). A shepherd at heart! One added bonus is Daisy's barks are with purpose (barks at new strangers) & doesn't bark "just to bark" for no reason. Please note, Daisy is up to date on the 3-year rabies vaccine and has just had her wellness check this summer! All vet records will be provided. Thank you for considering Daisy in your search for the perfect dog!
