Story
Meet Spot! Spot is a 10.5-month-old 17 pound Bernedoodle who is learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and cared for. He got his name because he has a very distinguished spot on the side of his body that makes him extra special. His superpowers include his gentle nature, his ability to stay very still and cooperative during grooming and nail trims, and his strong bond with other dogs. During baths, he may try to get out of the water, but he does not yell or bark and does well when reassured and comforted. He is still unsure about new situations, lots of people, having an leash around his neck, and navigating stairs. When he first arrived, he did not understand the leash and was very reactive, but after a few days he began to learn that it isn’t scary or harmful. He is learning how to go up and down the stairs but still needs to be carried most of the time. But loves having a person of his own. It takes a few days for Spot to warm up, but once he chooses his person, his confidence grows significantly. He also finds great comfort in other dogs and does best when he is not alone. In terms of house training, Spot does best when crated with another dog for comfort, as he experiences stress when crated alone. His first night alone he barked throughout the night, but when placed in a crate with another dog, he settled and slept calmly. He continues to adjust to routines in foster care. He is still learning where does appropriate to go potty. However, we are working with him and have full confidence that he will be potty trained soon. Some of his favorite things are other dogs, cozy sweaters, gentle reassurance, and toys that crinkle or squeak. He is just learning how to play and is beginning to show interest in chasing balls. He eats very quickly and would benefit from a slow-feeder bowl, likely due to past food insecurity, though he has shown no food aggression. If you’re looking for a young dog who thrives with canine companionship and needs a patient, understanding home to help him continue building confidence, he might be your perfect match! Spot could be the perfect addition to your family. Spot is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. His adoption fee is $450.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Shadow isn’t just a dog — he’s the full package: outdoorsy enough to conquer a weekend camping trip, mellow enough to nap through a thunderstorm, and loyal enough to follow your every move (hence the name). He just spent a week roughing it with his foster family and proved he’s a total catch — smart, funny, affectionate, and perfectly content just being wherever his people are. He’s been working hard on clicker training and confidence building, and he’s absolutely thriving with structure, love, and a soft spot to land.Shadow would do best in a calm home with someone (who will continue his training) who appreciates a good balance of adventure and relaxation — bonus points if you’ve got great snack options and a comfy couch. He’s available through his foster home, so meet-and-greets are by appointment only.To set one up, contact:Lauri Ann (LA) – 513-687-7598Shadow’s ready to leave “foster dog” in the rearview mirror and finally become somebody’s “best boy.”
