So, as you can see I am a BIG BIG GUY(130#)!!! Like the German Rotties, I have a BIG old HEAD and a propensity to protect my people....... I need just the right home, no other dogs please. I was not socialized with other dogs while growing up and am a big boy and so introducing to other dogs is a challenge for the rescuers and therefore we are looking for a single dog home. I am a very typical rottie and was kept as a protector of the property. I LOVE my people and honestly would love to be a lap dog, lol, but I also need a couple or single who is a strong leader, who really understands my breed and who will assure that I stay safe and others do as well. Now, I have a sweet and loving side, and my friends love that about me ;) But look at my face, without my toothy grin, and you know they understand that I am a serious guy :) I love my peeps and am ready for just the right place. The classic debate- left Twix versus right Twix... Either way, it'll be delicious!! Just like a Twix bar, I am super sweet, a little salty, and really ooey gooey. I was found when I was 10 months old and brought to God’s Dogs Rescue. I was adopted for about a year but have, otherwise, spent my life in the rescue system. I'm now entering my golden years and have been overlooked for long enough! I have lived with many dogs in the past but, at my age, I prefer those that are lower energy and will live and let live. I would also be fine as the only dog. I am a generally lazy guy but I still have a stubborn streak and will assert myself if needed. I'm not a fan of smaller animals (cats, birds, etc.) unless we are talking about favorite snacks. In my foster home, I am an easy-going guy and the BIGGEST LOVER. I get so excited, wiggly, and bouncy with my humans. They give the best back scratches, I give the best hair tumbleweeds. I am also amazing on leash so walks are a breeze. My favorite way to get around though, is a ride in the car. I love nothing more than cruising around the neighborhood with the wind in my ears. I am so ready for my new AND FINAL home! In the sweltering heat I was blessed enough to CHOOSE the Post Office to hang out in. I was there for months, and no one could get me...and they tried but they deliver MAIL, not SAVE DOGS for a living..:) The Post Master knew about a local rescue, and they tried to help me too...then I was hit by a car and injured... AND I found a girlfriend and she was my lucky break, literally. The Police Department was finally able to save us and away we went to the rescue! Reyna is beautiful, low-shedding, crate trained, potty trained, and walks on a leash like she personally watched every episode of The Dog Whisperer. She loves running, hiking, swimming, fetch, and basically any activity preferred by those mysterious people who voluntarily do cardio when absolutely no one is chasing them. She’s great with kids and medium- to large-sized dogs. However, in true Rottie fashion, Reyna firmly believes squirrels, cats, and other tiny fast-moving creatures are highly suspicious and should be investigated at full speed. Because of this, a home without cats is a must. The squirrels, however, have been warned and remain fair game. After a full day — or at least a good walk and a game of fetch — this gal is more than happy to crash on the couch with her people for cuddles and a full-on Love Island binge session.
