Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Jessie is a joyful little firecracker who approaches life at full speed! This playful, energetic girl absolutely loves other dogs and is happiest when she has a four-legged friend to wrestle with, chase around the yard, and join her for a serious case of the zoomies. Jessie is still learning how to channel all that enthusiasm, but underneath the wiggles is a sweet, social girl with so much potential. She’s looking for a family who will give her the exercise, structure, confidence, and training she needs to become her very best self. Quick Facts Wonderful with both big and small dogs Would thrive with a playful, well-mannered canine companion Cats are unknown, but she can be tested Best suited for older children or teens due to her enthusiastic puppy energy High-energy, playful and always ready for fun Loves toys and happily carries them around No food or toy guarding with people or other dogs A home with a secure yard and room to run would be ideal Would benefit from continued training, confidence building and consistent routines Can be nervous around unfamiliar people on walks and needs a securely fitted harness and patient guidance Crate trained for sleeping and when her people are away, although she is still working through some anxiety and FOMO when she knows fun is happening without her A confident, well-mannered resident dog could be a wonderful role model for her Located in Southern California Jessie can initially be shy with new people, particularly men, and she appreciates being allowed to make friends at her own pace. Once she feels comfortable, her playful personality takes center stage. She’s very much a “follow the pack” kind of girl and looks to the dogs around her for cues, which is another reason we think the right canine sibling could be fantastic for her. Right now, some of Jessie’s extra energy and frustration are amplified because she is recovering from her spay and hasn’t been able to run, wrestle, and play the way she normally would. When she gets excited, she can be vocal and occasionally mouthy in that silly puppy way, so she’ll need someone willing to patiently teach her appropriate ways to channel her enthusiasm. She’s also learning that shoes, hats, and other tempting human belongings aren’t actually dog toys! Jessie isn’t looking for a quiet, sedentary life. She wants activities, adventures, zoomies, toys, training, and preferably a dog friend who thinks wrestling is just as much fun as she does. Because she needs room to burn off energy and can be vocal when excited, apartment living probably isn’t the best fit. With an active family, consistent boundaries, plenty of appropriate exercise, and some confidence-building along the way, we think Jessie is going to absolutely blossom. She may not be a couch potato or champion cuddler just yet—there are simply too many exciting things to do!—but for the family looking for a funny, spirited little sidekick who will keep life interesting, Jessie might be exactly their girl.
