Story
Holly is an awesome, very friendly and energetic young female. Between a year and a half to two years of age. We believe she's a mix of Greyhound and either Sloughi or Whippet, but could be another of the sighthound or Lurcher breeds. She loves to go out and just run around and burn off some energy. She is super affectionate and gentle, also very easily excited. But it doesn't take more than 5 seconds of giving her some love or petting her belly before she calms down. She is excellent with other dogs. (if they can tolerate her energy.) Just very out going and adventurous. Give us a call or email to schedule an appointment to come visit her.*Note that young dogs and pure breeds are at the highest end of our prices.* Please find our applications and valuable information under  "Adopt a dog"* on our website:  *www.beaglesandbuddies.com* and email your application to beaglesandbuddies@gmail.com. Let us know your preference of appointment day/time and which dogs you are interested in and we will do our best to accommodate and email you the closest appointment available. Please allow us up to a week to get back to you. Most appointments will be Friday-Sunday, 10 am - 2 pm, for an hour. *Note bring any other dog/s and the entire family to your meet and greet at B&B.* A complimentary training manual is included with each adoption, authored by terristeuben.com. Check out her website - she is fabulous! B&B is glad to be open during the pandemic. We know the value and comfort of a loving pet companion and are doing our best to help the dogs and folks who need them. We update our website daily and are always rescuing, vetting, rehabilitating, socializing. Are you my furrever family? For further info on the adoption process, please visit our home page and check out the "Adopt a Dog" section, which has thorough instructions.  All our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and  fully vaccinated before adoption; they have been wormed, bathed, socialized, walked daily and much loved; each adoptee leaves with a leash, collar, and all medical records.   Our prices are higher than the shelters' because we nurse the dogs through their illnesses and get them needed surgeries and dentals. We also spend time socializing. Furthermore, unlike shelters, rescues do not get financial aid from the government and must rely on donations, grants, and adoption fees. Our fees for adults start at $150 and usually go up to $750. Young adults that are high in demand may be a little over $750.00. For puppies and purebreds, we charge up to $1000. The lower end is for dogs who have been here a while. The good news is that, because rescues fall under the "charity" category, the fees for our dogs are officially donations and are therefore tax deductible. You can think of it as donating to a worthy cause and getting a dog in return!  Sponsor Me Beagles & Buddies must find ways to raise money so we can continue saving dogs. Your tax-deductible donation keeps our rescue kennel operating!  Hours Friday:  10 am to 3 pm Saturday:  10 am to 3 pm Sunday: 10 am to 3 pm Monday: CLOSED Tuesday: CLOSED Wednesday: CLOSED Thursday: CLOSED Weekday appointments may be available.  We are a small staff and do our best to accommodate your needs. **Note that during COVID, we are not holding open houses on any day. Please email us for an appointment and include your application (found on our website, beaglesandbuddies.com, under "Forms"). Most appointments will be Friday through Sunday, though other days may also be available. We usually schedule one appointment per hour. Allow 1-2 hours for your appointment. Please look at our website and make a list of one or more dogs that you would like to see. Story
"Bear (racing name Kingsbrae Bear) is a handsome white and blue greyhound who will celebrate his 6th birthday on November 10. With his calm nature, easygoing personality, and gentle spirit, Bear is more interested in enjoying life than racing through it. Wherever Bear goes, he settles in quickly. During his assessment, he adapted easily to a new environment, remained relaxed, and happily took everything in stride. He's the kind of dog who makes himself at home in no time. Bear is a pleasure to walk. He has lovely leash manners, walks calmly by your side, and enjoys exploring without pulling. His laid-back personality makes him an ideal companion for leisurely strolls and relaxed days at home. This sweet boy also has wonderful manners. He showed no signs of resource guarding, even when toys were involved, and demonstrated the calm, trustworthy temperament that makes retired greyhounds such wonderful companions. Bear also met small dogs during his assessment. He was calm and appropriate around them, happily sharing the yard and even chasing a ball alongside a small dog. The only time he became excited was when several small dogs and puppies began splashing and playing in a pool. The sudden movement and excitement briefly caught his attention, but once the activity settled, Bear relaxed right along with it and returned to his easygoing self. Bear is a lovely boy with a kind heart, a relaxed personality, and just enough playful spirit to keep life fun. He's ready to leave his racing days behind and become someone's loyal best friend. If you're looking for a gentle companion who enjoys walks, playtime, and quiet evenings at home, Bear may be the perfect addition to your family."

Story
"**Meet Lenny – A Fun-Loving Boy with a Heart Full of Happiness** Lenny (racing name **Len Has Zen**) is a handsome black greyhound who will celebrate his **3rd birthday this August**. He enjoyed a successful racing career, but now he's ready to trade the track for a family that will love him for the wonderful companion he is. Young, athletic, and full of personality, Lenny loves life. Whether he's playing with his favorite toys, splashing in the water, or heading out for a walk, he's always ready to have a good time. Despite his playful energy, he walks beautifully on lead and is a pleasure to take out and about. During his assessment, Lenny settled quickly into a new environment. He happily explored the yard with a relaxed sniff around before simply standing with his people, soaking up attention and enjoying plenty of pats. He's a social, affectionate boy who genuinely loves interacting with people and being part of the action. Lenny would be happiest in a home with other greyhounds or larger dogs that can match his playful style. When introduced to small dogs, he was enthusiastic and a little too interested, so he'll need an experienced home willing to continue his training. With time, guidance, and the right match, he has the potential to live successfully with the right small dog. Lenny is a joyful, friendly greyhound with an infectious enthusiasm for life. If you're looking for a young companion who will keep you smiling, enjoy your adventures, and reward you with endless affection, Lenny is ready to make your home his forever home. Could Lenny be the fun-loving best friend you've been waiting for?

Story
Turbo is an active, outgoing Greyhound with a friendly and confident personality. He enjoys playtime and getting involved in what is happening around him, but once he has had his fun, he settles well and is quiet and easy to have around. He’s very people‑oriented and would suit a home with children aged 10 and over who can enjoy his playful side while giving him space when he’s resting. Turbo’s mix of energy, friendliness, and calm downtime makes him a great fit for families or individuals looking for a sociable but well‑mannered companion. (Gets along with large dogs and with work, small dog potential)

Story
"Buddy is a handsome dark brindle boy born on February 20, 2023, and he's the perfect blend of gentle, affectionate, and easygoing. While Buddy can be a little timid when experiencing something new for the first time, he settles in quickly and gains confidence with a little reassurance. Once he's comfortable, his happy, relaxed personality shines through. He's an easy-going companion who enjoys life's simple pleasures and walks beautifully on lead, making outings together a joy. Buddy absolutely loves people. He's incredibly friendly, soaks up affection, and is happiest when he's right by your side, leaning in for pats and companionship. If you're looking for a loyal shadow to share your days with, Buddy is ready for the job. He has wonderful manners around other animals as well. While playing with toys alongside a small dog, Buddy showed no signs of resource guarding—in fact, he happily let his little friend take the toy and run off with it. He has also been introduced to cats. Although he showed some initial curiosity, he quickly disengaged and remained calm, demonstrating a thoughtful and respectful nature. Buddy has been well socialized with children and has the sweet temperament to make a wonderful family companion. If you're looking for a kind-hearted, affectionate greyhound who is happy to be your best friend and constant companion, Buddy is ready to steal your heart."

Story
Lawni is three and a half years old. She's a pitbull mix, I think with greyhound. She's lived with cats and dogs and been around kids with no issues. She has some separation anxiety and can get antsy when she's home alone, but she's been crate trained before. I think she would benefit greatly from living with a mid to large sized male dog because she can play pretty rough with other pets and could use some correcting. Other than that, she's a sweet girl and doesn't take long to get comfortable with new people. She's really smart and knows some commands but I think she's very trainable, just haven't had the time or money to do it myself. I just have to rehome her because I work too much and my living mates don't want to watch her anymore.
