Story
Hi, I'm Belle. Like a Southern Belle :) I was living on the streets until somebody took my picture one day without my permission... RUDE! They posted my picture on Facebook and animal control picked me up the next day. From there I made my way to a foster home with The Rescue House, where I am learning what its like to be loved and cared for properly.  I am receiving medicated baths 2 times a week for my dermatitis (Don't worry, my hair is growing in nicely)! I also have some large mammary tumors that will need to be removed at the same time they spay me. I wish my previous hoomans had me spayed so I wouldn't have mammary tumors... They are quite uncomfortable. My teeth are rotten and they say they are going to steal some of them from me too. I hope that makes me feel better!!! I am available to be fostered or adopted during my surgery and recovery period. I am looking for a home with someone that will let me cuddle them and let me chew on my toys. I do have a good amount of energy for a "senior dog." I can run fast and play hard.  I am estimated to be around 8 years old, so I have plenty of life ahead of me. I could be a whippet mix, but since I am a rescue dog they say they don't really know.  Please let me live with you FURever! I don't want to be homeless.  Apply to Adopt Belle ---> https://ifilmheroes.com/Adoption-Application ##2762163##

Story
A SWEET SENIOR COMPANION:  Approx. 11 years old / Approx. 33 lbs.  Hi, my name is Meeko!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and have been soaking up the love from the dedicated volunteers and in my foster home ever since!  I can’t remember how I ended up at animal control, but I’m thrilled to get a new chance to find a loving home and family – hopefully soon!  I’m currently in a foster home while I wait for my furever family to come for me! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and did not like them, so I want to be your only dog.  I don’t react to other dogs that I see on my walks, nor am I bothered by the two big dogs that live upstairs in my foster home, whom I live separately from but see frequently from afar in the yard.  / Cats unknown, however, I have shown a bit of prey drive with other small animals. / I met a nice boy and a girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and was nervous around them, so kids 15+ may be a good match for me.  Let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a small guy with a big, loveable personality!  I’m described as a sweet, gentle, fun-natured and playful, spunky guy.  That’s right, I still have a spring in my step at 11 years old!  I enjoy cuddling/snuggling with my people and will climb right into your lap if you let me!  I’m not shy and can be vocal when I want your attention, so condo or apartment living would likely not be a good fit for me.  I was also not shy about showing my elation, with grateful sighs of appreciation during my shelter bath.  I am a smart, well-mannered, and friendly guy who is sure to bring joy to my new home! / My energy level is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I have already shown that I know several commands: ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’ and ‘come’.  I also walk nicely on a leash, utilize proper door etiquette, and accept friendly strangers without jumping.  I like to go on walks with my favorite stuffy toy in my mouth – so cute!  I am treat-motivated and love to please, so I bet you can teach me even more – including taking advantage of the free training classes that Mostly Mutts offers to all their adoptive pups – who says an old dog can’t learn new tricks?! / My crate manners are good in my foster home, I quite like it in there actually, it’s like my ‘safe’ place!  / My potty habits were good on the shelter schedule and are good in my foster home, too. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to spend time with my foster and go for my daily walks and occasional car rides.  I love people and greet them politely and always with an energetic tail wag.  Playing fetch, chew toys, and tennis balls are my favorite things.  You are not likely to find a bigger treat fan than me, either.  Another thing I enjoy is peanut butter filled Kongs and I enjoy going for walks and surveying my world.  In my foster home, I love to crawl into my bed and cover myself with a cozy blanket – my foster mom jokes that when I peek out of the blanket, I look like ET! / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I came in with some broken teeth and needed a good dental cleaning when I arrived and thankfully MM has done that for me.  I’ve got a skin tag on my back leg, but it doesn’t bother me, and I hope you won’t mind it either.  I am taking an affordable over-the-counter joint supplement, which is good for all older doggies. I am looking for a wonderful furever home with a loving family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  July 9, 2026, 9:18 am

Story
Noodle - ID# 20317 - Kennel #857 - Arrived June 25th - Labrador Retriever Mix - Black and White - Female - 3 Years Old - 50 lbs - Will Be Spayed Prior to Adoption - Up to Date on Vaccines - Heartworm Negative Noodle is a three-year-old black and white Labrador Retriever mix with a sleek coat, a sweet white blaze down her face, long elegant legs, and a tongue so gloriously long and expressive it could have its own fan club. She arrived at Cobb Animal Services on June 25th as a lost dog, and this quiet, gentle girl came in scared and uncertain - but has shown nothing but sweetness to every person she has met since walking through the door. Noodle is house trained, dog friendly, cat friendly, and good with children - all things the kind person who found her shared with the shelter, and everything about her gentle demeanor since arriving confirms it. She is quiet and walks beautifully on leash, which speaks to a dog who has known a home and known kindness. At 50 lbs she is a lean, athletic, beautifully built girl with an elegance to her build that makes her truly striking. Noodle's full story belongs only to her - she came in as a lost dog with no history attached. But a dog this gentle, this quiet, and this good with everyone around her does not need a backstory to make her worth choosing. She speaks for herself entirely. Noodle is sweet, quiet, and beautiful - a gentle girl with an unforgettable tongue and a heart full of love just waiting to be claimed. She is waiting in Kennel #857 with those warm dark eyes and that spectacular tongue, ready for the person who will give her the safe, loving home she so clearly deserves. Come meet her - that tongue alone will make you smile before you even say hello. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.
