Story
Meet Lizzie, the gentlest lady with a calm ease that can only be described as natural therapy. With eyes you could talk into for hours, a peaceful presence, and gorgeous good looks, this girl was put here to be the calm in this sometimes crazy world. Lizzie is sized somewhere between a small greyhound and a large whippet, weighing 54 lbs. We estimate her to be 3 years old which has something to do with her calm presence but keep in mind, given she is a rescue, we cannot guarantee breed or age. Now, both whippet and grey hound evoke thoughts of a high energy, need for speed type of dog and that Lizzie is not. When we introduced her to new dogs she was polite and calm but never showed us her top speed. She happily existed with the other dogs and before long she was laying in the shade. Lizzie is very fortunate to be waiting for her adoption day in a loving home with a wide variety of other dogs. Her foster parent shared that she doesn’t run and play as much as she likes to “wrestle.” You’ll see a little of it in her video but just imagine a small, tumble-ball made up of two dogs just rolling around together. It's pretty cute! Take a look then come back to read more - https://youtu.be/zCrXnJZ-kWo Lizzie met two 4 year olds on the day we spent time together and we were all impressed by how calm and gently she approached them. They were just as calm and gentle with her which helped her feel at ease. She would be a lovely dog for a family who thrives on chill vibes but we can also imagine her being the perfect speed for someone looking for a companion to enjoy a sweet, simple life with. It isn’t going to take much for her to be happy, a peaceful home, a cozy play to lay, and leisurely walks. Thanks to the fact that Lizzie is fostered we do know she is house and crate trained and has great house manners. An ideal home is flexible though. Thanks to her size and calm nature she doesn’t need much, she has basic leash skills and is continuing to learn, apartment living would be great. A home with a yard and a chill, low-medium energy level doggie pal would be dreamy though. She will be a wonderful, easy addition to any home, making every guest feel welcome and always ready to hear about your day. Her calm, gentle nature make her an absolute dream of a companion. Lizzie is a true sweetheart and is going to be a loving, adoring companion for anyone she shares this life with. Adopt her before she’s snatched up—she’s a gem Questions? Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. Story
Sadie was adopted as a rescue 3 years ago. Unfortunately her mom has cancer and asked if I could find a new home for Sadie. Sadie is an active, loving dog. She loves to run and to have wrestling matches with bigger, male dogs. She’s great on a leash and loves a good run or hike. She knows basic commands like sit, down, stay and shake. She has a high prey drive and should not live with any small animals, to include small dogs. She lived with a small child without any issues. Sadie is a bright beautiful dog who just needs a loving home!
