Story
Nova is also such a good girl - she is calm, follows you around, and never tries to get into anything. Nova is a little timid around new people, but she warms up quickly & will be glued to your side. Nova would do well with regular walks, but she does love to run as fast as she can in a fenced yard, so we require she go to a home with a fenced yard so she can do her zoomies. Nova will do well with a single person, retired couple, a family with kids who know how to be gentle with her, and she would absolutely love a companion dog as a playmate. Even though she's a little wobbly on the back legs due to a back injury with her previous owner, she gets around well and loves to run and play! She had been attacked by a Great Dane which injured her back, leaving her scared and intimidated by larger dogs. We have been taking her to a veterinary chiropractor for acupuncture and adjustments and she is feeling tons better! We encourage her adopter to continue with that for her to keep her at her best. Nova needs to avoid too many stairs, and prefers floors with traction. Nova is slow to sit, lay, or stand/up on command but does it in her own time then she's off running. She does great with come, kennel, etc.Nova does great in her kennel. When out of the kennel for the day she can go up to four hours between potty breaks, she will go to the door to let you know she needs to potty. She and the resident dog are about the same size and get along great. Nova loves cats and rabbits (per previous owner). Nova and the resident dog have been eating within a few feet of each other with no issues. Nova is happy to share her toys and people! Nova doesn't know many commands, so we're working on the basics. She is food motivated and ready to learn. We hope you will fall in love with our worried-looking, wrinkled-forehead, little princess! Requirements to adopt Nova: *Home with a fenced yard *Active person/family *Another small, playful dog as a companion *A home with little to no stairs for her to navigate Nova is a Beagle mix who was was born approximately 1-6-19 and weighs 20 lbs. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed and started on heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $400 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. Story
Hi! My name's Willow. I arrived here from southern Kansas. I was hungry most of the time, and when I arrived my ribs and hips were showing. But Dolly's has taken good care of me and I'm healthy again & ready to find my forever family now. I'm 4 years old. I live with six other dogs and we're all buddies. I'm kennel-trained and that's where I take all my meals. I don't mind staying in there while my humans are away, but I'm well-behaved and would be fine to roam the home. I really love humans. My fosters have grandkids, and I love them too. I am perfect on the potty-training thing, have never had even one accident. I don't spend a lot of time outside. You could call me lower-than-average energy. Usually sniff around for the perfect spot to do my business and then come back inside to be with my people. We tried to see how I like cats, but initial vibes were "no". I'm pretty good on a leash, but sometimes pull when my nose leads me. I'm a smart girl and take direction well. At night, my fosters have an extra bed for the other dogs. Sometimes I hop up, but most of the time I like my puppy bed on the floor. I've been through some rough times, but everything is OK now. My humans tell me my hard days are behind me now, and I'm excited to meet my forever-humans. Come meet me. Let me amaze you with my hound love! Willow is a female Black & Tan Coonhound who was was born approximately 1-21-20 and weighs 55 lbs. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested heartworm negative & given heartworm prevention.
