Story
Meet Betty! 🐾 Please note before applying - Betty MUST go to a home with another patient, confident dog. This is non-negotiable. Betty is a sweet Beagle with an incredible story. She was rescued from the Ridglan Farms animal testing facility and is finally getting the chance to experience what it means to be loved. While she’s made amazing progress, she’s still learning that the world is a safe place. Betty absolutely adores other dogs and would thrive in a home with at least one friendly, confident canine companion. She loves dogs of every age and size and takes comfort in having them by her side. Her ideal home is one where she won’t have to navigate life alone. She’s still working on potty training. Most accidents happen when she’s feeling anxious, so patience, consistency, and understanding will help her continue to succeed. She can also be a little nervous around the TV, but she’s improving every day as she learns that everyday household sounds aren’t scary. Car rides require a few extra precautions. Betty must always be safely secured in a crate, riding with another dog in a hammock-style seat, or safely in a passenger’s lap. Windows should always remain closed and doors locked before opening them, as Betty is a flight risk and will jump if given the opportunity. She’s also still learning leash skills and should be walked using both a harness and a slip leash, ideally alongside another dog, which helps boost her confidence. Once Betty trusts you, her affectionate personality shines. She loves to snuggle, happily curls up in bed with her person at night, and will shower you with love. She’s also adorably vocal during playtime, making her personality even more endearing. Betty is looking for a patient, loving family that understands her past and is committed to helping her continue to blossom. Watching this resilient girl gain confidence is incredibly rewarding, and she’s ready to find the forever home she deserves. If you feel Betty is a great fit for your family, please fill out an application.
