Story
At just 35 pounds, Lilac is the perfect medium-sized companion with a huge personality and an even bigger heart. She is incredibly friendly and has never met a stranger. We think she has quite a bit of beagle in her thanks to her petite build, adorable stature, and enthusiastic vocalizations when she gets excited. She may also have some lab or border collie mixed in, but your guess is as good as ours! Sadly, Lilac was abandoned and thrown from a car, but thankfully she found her way into our care. Despite her rough start, she absolutely loves people and is especially great with kids. At around one year old, Lilac is still learning her manners. We're working on things like not jumping when she's excited, but she's smart, eager to please, and responds well to training. She just needs a family willing to continue reinforcing what she's learning. Lilac loves her foster dog friends, including two puppies and Taz! She is dog friendly, though she gets VERY excited when meeting new dogs, so we recommend a meet and greet to make sure play styles are a good match. A home without cats would be best. She currently lives with cats, but she's simply too interested in them. Her beagle nose is always on the job, whether she's tracking scents in the yard or discovering where the local chipmunks live. Lilac is a true velcro dog who wants to be wherever her people are. She would thrive with someone who works from home or has plenty of time to spend with her. If you're looking for a loving, playful, people oriented companion, Lilac may be your perfect match! ##2732397##

Story
Female; 10-yr-old Beagle mix; 28 lbs. House trained. Hazel is a smart, healthy, spunky little girl. Her soulful eyes are very endearing. Sometimes medium energy level; other times low energy level. Great at dog park & boarding. Enjoys pets & rubs; doesn't demand them. She LOVES car rides, head out the window; ears blowing in the wind! Needs to be on a leash when outside or in a securely fenced area. Generally, she is a low maintenance pup. Will let you know when she needs something; (i.e. potty, food). She alerts when an animal/person is outside the house. She does become anxious during thunderstorms and fireworks. She is on an inexpensive prescription medication that curbs her anxiety to a large degree when this happens. She needs her caregiver to be home during these times to keep her from panicking. At all other times, she can be left at home unattended with no problems.
