Story
Meet the cutest gal on the block with the best smile, Lucinda! Lu is a 4.5 year old hound, boxer mix who loves her people, including kids, and is full of exuberance. She is also only a medium girl at 45 lbs— the perfect size in our eyes! She came into rescue at 6 months old & was adopted, but was returned 3 years later because the adopter was having a baby. Sweet Lucinda did nothing wrong, & she’s looking for a forever, loving family this time around!    Lucinda loves playing with energetic dog friends after slow meets & is working on manners (she can get a tad bit excited for some hehe)! She would love an active home where she can go on adventures with her people— a favorite of hers is hiking! A family that gives her lots of belly rubs? She says, “yes please!”   This wiggly girl is healthy & ready to find her forever home! She is house trained, crate trained, & knows basic commands! She is so smart & is ready to continue learning in a forever home to show a family just how amazing she is! July 26, 2024, 11:17 am

Story
Hi, my name is Ellie and I’m a five year old beagle mix. First, let me tell you all the great things about me; I’m a snuggler and love sleeping under the covers, I know a lot of commands and can be taught more because I’m super smart and very good motivated. I also get along with other friendly dogs and also with dog savvy cats. I walk like a champ with a prong collar and like car rides too. Now, I’m going to tell you about things I’m working on. I’m a barker, foster mom says it’s because I’m a hound but sometimes I wear a bark collar because I’ve decided it’s my job to let you know about anything that might be a threat, whether it’s a squirrel in the yard or just an unknown sound. I also would not do good around small kids and prefer ones ten or older that are respectful of my space. I do take anxiety medicine which helps me. I want a person/family that understand my needs and want to help me continue my training. I almost forgot to mention that I’m housebroken and will stay in my crate and I never ever tear anything up or chew on things. July 26, 2024, 11:17 am

Story
Zeke (and Stitch) - These two have been the best of friends since I picked them up from pet wow on the same day. I don't think they knew each other before they came to SAAP, but they have grown very close over the last couple of months. They were both set to be euthanized in February, and are now living the life of luxury in a house! They aren't a bonded pair and don't have to go to the same home, but would probably love to do so. They would be a great fit for anyone looking for two dogs. They are both crate trained and house broken. They were both very very skinny when they came to SAAP, and Zeke has gained weight easily and quickly. Stitch has a hard time keeping weight on because he's very very active and seemingly has a very high metabolism. They're both playful, energetic, gentle, and super sweet. They would love a house with a fenced-in yard. They're great with kids and cats. They're still working on manners, but they are just a little jumpy at times. Zeke is about 30 lb and Stitch is about 25 lb. July 26, 2024, 11:17 am
