WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🌟🐾 Meet Gypsy — Short Legs, Big Heart, Still Waiting 💛🐾 Gypsy has been waiting… and waiting… and waiting. And honestly? She’s waited far too long for a girl this special. At 2 years old and 28 pounds, Gypsy is a delightful blend of Cattle Dog smarts and Basset Hound charm — think low-rider body, big-dog energy, and a personality that could light up a room. She’s basically the off-road model of a best friend: compact, sturdy, and always ready for an adventure. Gypsy LOVES her walks and is getting better and better on leash every day. She’s happiest when she’s outside, exploring the yard, supervising chores, or keeping an eye out for squirrels (her self-appointed job, and she takes it very seriously). When playtime winds down, she’s just as content following her favorite human around like a loyal little shadow. She’s playful, affectionate, and full of goofy charm. Toys are fun. Shoelaces are very intriguing. And her signature low-rider zoomies? Absolutely legendary. 🐾 Gypsy’s Highlights: ✅ 2 years old, 28 lbs ✅ Dog-friendly ✅ House & crate trained ✅ Loves walks and outdoor time ✅ Sweet, silly, and full of personality ✅ Equal parts sass, snuggles, and sunshine While Gypsy does great with other dogs, cats are an unknown — mostly because Gypsy believes squirrels are public enemy #1 — so she may prefer a home without feline roommates. What Gypsy really wants, though, isn’t much. She wants a family who will love her quirks, laugh at her goofy legs, and finally give her the forever home she’s been patiently waiting for. She’s ready to be someone’s hiking buddy, couch companion, and daily dose of happiness. 💛 Gypsy has so much love to give — she just needs someone to give her a chance. Short legs. Big heart. Endless loyalty. ✨ Apply today at haydudeequine.org and let Gypsy finally stop waiting and start living the life she deserves. 🐾💛

Story
We recently adopted Dusty from a rescue facility, as he had been there only a couple of weeks. We have had Dusty for a few or so months, he truly is a great dog, I just don’t have a lot of time to be with him due to having to switch jobs and Dusty loves to be around people. I also have a couple older geriatric cats that I’ve had for over 14-15 years and they have just not adjusted well. He is very high energy and very active. He’s very adventurous and always curious of everything, always in search of something and being mischievous. He would be a good fit for someone who can spend lots of time with him and can continuously keep up with him. He is very affectionate and loves to cuddle! He is still learning. Dusty appreciates slow introductions with other dogs and has been in doggie daycare 3x a week with our other dog so he is well accustomed to smaller breeds. My significant other works for a vets office and would appreciate to see veterinary records of other animals he’ll be meeting.

These pups are in Newport, Kentucky too!

Story
Samwell Tarly (aka Tucker) is back and looking for his forever home!  Samwell Tarly (knows Tucker) is a 10yo 20lb Boxer mix who was returned to us through no fault of his own. He is a polite, quiet boy who is house and crate trained, great on the leash and in the car. He has done well with dogs and children, greeting potential adopters with a friendly wag of his tail.  After 24 hours with him in his new foster home, we have learned many things about this sweet boy! 1. He is very well trained! He knows “sit”, “stay”, and “shake” and I’m sure there are even more!  2. He LOVES to be outside and to go for car rides!  3. He is such a smart cookie! He alerts for the bathroom and knows when it’s time to eat!  4. He has a huge heart and the softest ears! He’s a great snuggler!  5. He would make a perfect first pet for someone! Samwell is our first foster (and first pet) and he has done such a great job! He is still getting acclimated, but he’s been such an easy pup!December 1, 2025, 9:29 am

Story
Alduin (knows the name Dash) is back with SAAP and is looking for his forever home! Dash is a 30lb,  7.5 year old hound (possible heeler?) mix looking, looking for a forever home to live out his golden years. Dash is good with cats and with other dogs, particularly dogs his size or larger. He would do best in a home with at least one other dog to keep him company and give him confidence!  He does best with slow intros to other dogs, but bonds right away to people and is the best cuddler!    Dash loves blankets and is always up for a game of fetch. He loves walks, but also gets excited on the leash, so he’d love an adopter willing to work with him on some leash skills (he already knows everything else, including sit, down, stay, shake and roll over). He a loves to be close to his person, and has been known to be protective and to have some separation anxiety. Dash takes a daily medication to help with his anxiety and he is a champ at it! He loves bread and peanut butter with his dinner in the morning and night. Dash can be left out and uncrated in the home with other dogs, but when visitors enter the home, it is best that he is separated initially until he becomes comfortable and warms up to people (It usually only takes a couple of snacks).    Dash would love a patient adopter with other doggies to keep him company. He can be a bit fearful, so he needs someone he can trust to give all of his love to! He has so much to give.   November 13, 2025, 11:16 am

Story
Meet the cutest gal on the block with the best smile, Lucinda! Lu is a 4.5 year old hound, boxer mix who loves her people, including kids, and is full of exuberance. She is also only a medium girl at 45 lbs— the perfect size in our eyes! She came into rescue at 6 months old & was adopted, but was returned 3 years later because the adopter was having a baby. Sweet Lucinda did nothing wrong, & she’s looking for a forever, loving family this time around!  Lucinda loves playing with energetic dog friends after slow meets & is working on manners (she can get a tad bit excited for some hehe)! She would love an active home where she can go on adventures with her people— a favorite of hers is hiking! A family that gives her lots of belly rubs? She says, “yes please!” This wiggly girl is healthy & ready to find her forever home! She is house trained, crate trained, & knows basic commands! She is so smart & is ready to continue learning in a forever home to show a family just how amazing she is!April 23, 2025, 12:21 pm
