Story
Elliot will be 12 in November and has been part of our family along with her sister since they were 14 weeks old. Elliot is a gentle 30lb girl. She loves going for walks and running outside. She loves being pet and cuddling up next to you. She is quite protective and will alert if anyone enters the home/yard, she welcomes people kindly but with caution. Elliot loves playing with her sister and is fine around other animals but generally prefers to keep to herself. She is good with children. We love her very much and this is a hard decision to come to, but we have entered a different season of life as we now have three young children and are having a fourth child this summer - between my husband and I both having full time jobs and parenting we are no longer able to give them the love and attention they deserve. We are hoping they will find a loving home to ideally take them on together as they have been lifelong besties.

Story
Pretty PennyFemaleAge: 2-3 years oldWeight: 25 lbsBreed: Beagle Mix Hi, I’m Pretty Penny, and yes — I really am as cute as my name sounds! I’m a sweet, curious, and shy girl who is still learning that the world is a safe place. I may take a little time to come out of my shell, but every day I’m getting braver, warmer, and more comfortable. Once I trust you, I’ll quietly follow you around the house and find cozy little spots where I feel confident and safe. I’ve met multiple dogs and have done well with them. I’m usually polite and like to keep my space, so I’d likely do best with dog friends who respect my gentle nature. I haven’t been introduced to children or cats yet, so I’m not sure how I feel about them. I’m crate trained and sleep through the night in my crate. My crate is my safe space, and I’ll often go in there on my own when I want to relax. I do need to be crated when left alone, but I’m a low-energy girl and would likely be okay hanging out in my kennel during the day as long as I have a routine and feel secure. I’m getting better on leash every day! Sometimes I can still get scared and may pull a little, but overall I’m easy to control and enjoy short walks. I also love exploring the backyard on a long lead. I don’t need a ton of exercise — a short walk or two a day, some sniffing time, and a cozy place to lounge would make me very happy. I’m a quiet girl, which is pretty rare for a beagle! So far, I haven’t had much to say. I’m more of a lounge pup with big adorable ears, a soft heart, and a gentle spirit. I love Milk Bones, chicken chews, and crinkly stuffies. I do have Lyme disease, but it doesn’t seem to bother me. My rescue is monitoring it and treating it as advised. My ideal home would be with someone patient, loving, and kind — someone who will give me a safe space, a steady routine, and gentle encouragement as I continue learning about new things. I don’t need much; just comfort, love, and someone who believes in me while I keep blossoming. If you’re looking for a sweet little shadow who is slowly but surely opening her heart, I might be your Pretty Penny. If you are interested in meeting Pretty Penny apply to adopt her at www.causeforcanines.org Adoption fee: $350. Must be an Ohio resident & 23 or older. Children must be 5 or older. ##2726823##

NorbertMaleAge: 6 yearsWeight: 30 lbsBreed: Beagle Pug MixTrial Adoption Eligible Hi! I’m Norbert. I am a loving, friendly and happy guy who gets along with other dogs, but not so much cats as I like to chase them. Children have been a stressor for me in the past, so a home without children would be best for me. I am house trained and crate trained too. My favorite treats are freeze dried tripe from that Hollywood Feed Store and I have a Moose stuffed toy I enjoy. In my daily life, I like to lounge on the couch, explore the yard and take walks. I can be an escape artist, so supervised playtime in the yard is a good idea. My foster mom says I am pretty quiet for a beagle. I am gentle and polite with all my doggy friends and I really love to cuddle with my humans. I cannot wait to find a family all my own who will provide me all the love and attention I deserve! To help me find the perfect match, I’m eligible for Cause for Canines’ Trial Adoption Program! This gives approved adopters a chance to get to know me in their home before making things official. You must be an approved adopter to participate. If you are interested in meeting Norbert, apply to adopt at: www.causeforcanines.org. Adoption fee: $350 Must be an Ohio resident and 23 or older. Home without Children.  ##1566915##
