Story
Meet Theo!Theo is the definition of a sweetheart. He is an affectionate, gentle, food-motivated beagle who loves being close to his people. Whether he’s soaking up the sun, curled up for a nap, asking for belly scratches, or happily being held, Theo thrives on love and companionship. He has come so far during his time in foster care, and it has been incredibly rewarding to watch his confidence grow.A Professional Snuggle BuddyIf you’re looking for a dog who wants to be part of whatever you’re doing, Theo is your guy. He is incredibly cuddly and loves curling up beside you on the couch for a TV marathon, happily snoozing with his head in your lap while you binge your favorite shows. When he’s not snuggled up, he’s ready for his next adventure. Theo loves exploring the outdoors, following interesting scents, and taking in the world one sniff at a time. He is also most content laying outside sun bathing. Playful and SocialTheo gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has been great with kids. He enjoys playing fetch with tennis balls, loves to rip the squeaker out of toys, and often gets a burst of playful energy after meals, after going potty, and especially around 7:00 p.m. Like any true beagle, his nose is his guide. Walks are his favorite because they give him plenty of opportunities to sniff every bush, stick, leaf, and new scent he can find.Smart and Eager to LearnTheo is nearly fully potty trained with an excellent success rate, as long as he gets one final potty break before bedtime. He is eager to learn and responds especially well to positive reinforcement and treats.Commands Theo Knows- Sit- Place (go to his kennel)- Leave it- Touch - ComeHe is also understands “wait” at mealtimes. Theo eats quickly, so a slow feeder may be helpful. He’s comfortable being handled, does well during baths, and stays calm, if a little nervous, at the vet.Still a PuppyLike many young beagles, Theo is still learning. He enjoys jumping onto furniture, has recently discovered chewing and digging, and is happiest when redirected to an appropriate toy. He is comfortable eating his meals in his kennel and has made great progress with being alone. Like many young dogs, Theo still experiences some mild separation anxiety and will do best with a family that continues building his confidence through patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. Little Things That Make Theo SpecialTheo enjoys looking out windows and rides wonderfully in the car, alternating between sleeping and quietly taking everything in. He responds to both “Theo” and “Theodore,” though he answers to Theo most consistently. His favorite afternoon activity is napping in the sun. Above all else, Theo is an incredibly loyal, loving puppy who simply wants to be part of a family. He has so much love to give and will happily be your adventure buddy during the day and your cuddle buddy at night. With a little patience, consistency, and affection, Theo will make an amazing lifelong companion. We feel so lucky to have been part of his journey and can’t wait for him to find the forever home he deserves.

If you are making coffee, reading on the couch, or moving from room to room, expect a small shadow with floppy ears tagging along right behind you.Great with Other Dogs: He gets along really well with other pups. He can be a little timid when meeting new friends at first, but having a dog sibling around actually helps build his confidence.Purely Sweet: He just wants to be loved. Wattson’s gentle, trusting nature will steal your heart the second you meet him.Potty Training & RoutineWork in Progress: Wattson is making awesome progress with his housetraining, but he has not figured out how to give a heads-up when he needs to go out yet. A predictable routine and proactive potty breaks are key to keeping him on the path to success!Ready to open your home to Wattson?
