Story
TIME SENSITIVE! SPECIAL NEEDS! Trisha needs a home SOON! Remember Trisha? She came to us from a shelter a couple months ago. She was hit by a car about 6 months before being taken to the shelter but her owner didn't take her to the vet. We quickly learned that she is incontinent because the end of her spinal cord is severed. Trisha is happy, and playful and loves attention. She is not good with cats or any dog who seems dominant at all and may be most successful as an only pet. She loves people and would most likely be just fine with kids! Trisha would be happy and manageable in a home with a fenced yard for her to spend the day in. She could wear a diaper to come inside for family time and sleep in a crate at night. She will be more prone to urinary tract infections and will need regular medical care. We love Trisha and hope we can find someone else who will adore her and be able to manage her needs. Trisha has been spayed and vaccinated and we are happy to waive her adoption fee. Trisha is about 4 years old and weighs about 45 pounds. Apply NOW at www.augustadogadoptions.org. Trisha is located near Staunton,Va.

Story
Judah and her siblings were born in their foster home. Their mom was running loose in west Virginia for several months and when she was finally caught, she was very pregnant. she came to our rescue and started having her puppies within an hour of bine there. Mom is a daschund/beagle mix. We do NOT know who dad was. They are all going to be small when fully grown. She currently weighs about 7 pounds. Judah loves to play with her siblings and her mom. She is getting used to playing with other dogs in her foster home also. She loves people once she gets to meet them. Her foster mom and her adore each other. Judah will need a patient adopter who can work on her house training. A fenced in yard would be awesome - but not a deal breaker. Other dogs in the home would also be ideal, but again not necessary. She is available with a pre approved application and a scheduled meet and greet. Remember puppies are a lifelong commitment and need a stable home ready to care for a dog for years and years and years. Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster-based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
