Story
Hi, I’m Charlie, a two-year-old Havanese boy who weighs 12 whole pounds of happy energy! I’m a social butterfly and a smart cookie who loves interaction. A family that likes to play and is willing to teach me how to be my best self would be my dream come true.
Favorite Things: Charlie loves toys – especially the squeaky ones. He also loves walks and playtime with other dogs. He’s a big fan of treats, soaking up the sun, and being close to any human willing to give him belly rubs. He prefers to have someone home more often than not.
Training & Manners: Charlie is house trained when let out regularly. He is a smart little boy and has already learned several basic commands but will need continued training and reinforcement on house manners and leash walking. This clever guy will do well with mental and physical stimulation activities, like puzzles and games. He sleeps soundly in a secure space at night but enjoys sleeping in the people bed as well.
Health & Care: Charlie is neutered, heartworm negative, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. He’ll just need monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog. This handsome guy will need regular brushing and professional grooming every 6 -8 weeks to look and feel his best.
Other Animals: Charlie has experience with other dogs, especially the playful kind. He is learning how to take cues from his foster fur-siblings, like chilling when they don’t feel like playing but thrilled when they do. He has not yet been tested with cats, but his foster mom thinks he would be fine with them.
Children: This sweet, playful boy loves the attention and energy of children who are gentle and dog-savvy, especially if they like giving belly rubs.
Ideal Home: Charlie can be quite vocal initially when left home alone so a single-family home would be ideal. But he settles down after a short while and can be left alone in the home for a few hours in a secure space without any issues.
Overall: If you’re looking to add a playful, snuggly new member to your family who will love you with all his heart, Charlie might be the one for you. If you think he might be, visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application. If it seems like it could be a good match, his foster family will reach out with more information. His adoption donation is $575.
