Anderson Humane is not responsible for any unsuccessful adoptions. Archie and Ivy are brother and sister, purebred Havanese, born on March 15, 2019, looking for a forever home where they can be part of an active family home life. These seven-year-olds are social, friendly, and well-mannered companions who do well on a leash and get along with other dogs. They are wonderful with children and have spent the last 4 years around infants and toddlers. They are at their best in a household where someone is home the majority of the time to provide the consistent companionship this affectionate breed craves. We our now empty nesters and we are looking for a household that would provide a loving home and lots of attention and activity for these two lovable dogs. Archie is a sturdy and handsome 20-pound boy who enjoys walks, car rides, sleeping and being a loyal companion. He is a bossy brother to Ivy but is protective of her as well. He is a true people-person who prefers to be exactly where the action is, making him the ultimate buddy for anyone looking for a devoted sidekick. Whether you're moving from room to room or settling in for a quiet evening, Archie’s main goal is to be near his favorite humans, offering steady friendship and a wagging tail. Archie is current with his shots, fixed, and is in good health. He has had ear infections, but with medicine manages just fine. Ivy, weighing in at a dainty 12 pounds, brings a wonderful balance of personality to the family. While she shares the breed’s affectionate nature, she possesses a lovely independent streak that allows her to explore and relax on her own terms. However, don't let her self-sufficiency fool you—she is a world-class snuggler who thoroughly enjoys curling up for some quality one-on-one time once she’s ready to settle down. Ivy also enjoys walks, card rides and sleeping. Ivy is current with her shots, fixed, and in good health.

Story
We acquired Astro about 5 years ago from a breeder located 3 hours from St. Louis, MO. He is very smart dog. He knows how to "sit" on command and signal us when he needs to use the bathroom or wants to go for a walk. Also, somehow he figured out how to open doors using the lever on the doorknobs. But, Astro only does it when he is very nervous or scared, I believe searching for one of us for comfort. Astro is extremely nervous to rain, fireworks, lighting and thunderstorms. He shivers and whines when under these events. I had a number of sleepless nights because of it. I have tried a number of options to calm him but none of them appear to work. I feel hopeless when it happens but I cannot continue anymore.. I am sadden to do this and I am going to miss him a great deal. But, I have to make this hard decision for my own health. Astro deserves a good home, with very patient and caring owner(s). His records are up to date..

Story
Coco Puff Hello there! My name is Coco Puff, and I am a little female Havanese puppy. Since they don’t know who Dad is, they must call me a mix, but who knows for sure. I was born on 2.12.26, just before Valentines’ Day, but that is sad because I am a pure sweetheart and the day would have been perfect for a birthday! I am scheduled for my spay on April 13th and then will be able to go to my new home. Will it be with you? About my breed: Havanese puppies are small, affectionate, and intelligent "velcro dogs" known for their cheerful, trainable, and playful nature, making them ideal family companions or apartment pets. Originally from Cuba, these 7–13 lb dogs have long, hypoallergenic, and low-shedding coats. They require regular grooming and thrive on companionship, often experiencing separation anxiety if left alone too long. My adoption fee locally is $400 and out of state with transportation is $700.

Story
These precious Havapoo babies are as sweet as they come! With their soft coats, bright eyes, and playful little personalities, they are guaranteed to melt hearts wherever they go. They are affectionate, social, and love being near their people. Whether theyre playing with toys, romping with their siblings, or curling up for cuddles, they are happiest when theyre part of the action. Theyre curious, smart, and already showing how eager they are to learn. Havapoos are known for being loving companions with gentle, friendly temperaments. These little ones will do wonderfully in homes ready to continue their training, socialization, and provide lots of snuggles. They will go home current on age-appropriate vaccines, dewormed, and microchipped. As with all puppies, adopters should be prepared for grooming needs and the time and commitment that comes with raising a young pup. If youre ready for a tiny best friend with a huge heart, these Havapoo babies are waiting to meet you! A Few Important Notes: Adoption Area: We only adopt to families living in Illinois, Wisconsin, or states that directly border either IL or WI. Renters: If you rent, please have your landlord contact us directly at mallorytsherwood@gmail.com to confirm that dogs are allowed in your home. Adoption Fee: $800, which includes microchip, current vaccines and boosters, deworming, and spay/neuter at our rescue vet. Using Your Own Vet: If you prefer to complete the spay/neuter with your own vet, well reimburse $100 once proof of procedure is provided. This must be done before 6 months of age, and adopters will sign a contract agreeing to this. Rescue License: DACPT #506053 Please visit our website www.thecharlieprojectdogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.

Story
Some dogs come into our lives for a chapter. Others bring their very best friend along and promise a story you’ll never forget. ❤️ Meet Sparky and Gracie, a wonderfully mismatched but perfectly matched bonded pair looking for a home where they can stay together forever. Sparky is a 15-year-old medium-sized Pitbull mix with the heart of a teddy bear. This gentle senior has truly mastered the art of the good life: peaceful walks, sunny spots outside, delicious meals, and lots of cuddles with his people. Though he’s a bigger boy, Sparky is incredibly soft and sweet. His foster family says one of his most charming habits is quietly walking over while they’re sitting on the couch and placing his head on their leg. That’s his polite way of asking for cuddle time—and once he does it, it’s pretty much impossible to resist joining him on the floor for snuggles. Sparky is housebroken, non-destructive, and wonderfully polite on leash. He enjoys his walks and will greet other dogs with a friendly sniff before moving along. These days his energy level is low, and he’s happiest curling up near the people and dogs he loves. Every once in a while he’ll even surprise everyone with a little burst of zoomies in the yard! Sparky does have some arthritis, but he manages it well and mostly just appreciates soft places to rest and a slower pace of life. Sparky has also been diagnosed with mast cell tumors. While that can sound scary, the good news is that they are currently slow growing and are not affecting his quality of life. He’s simply a senior dog who deserves comfort, kindness, and a family to love for however many happy days lie ahead. And then there’s Gracie, his adorable 7-year-old fluffy sidekick, likely a Havanese mix. Where Sparky is calm and steady, Gracie brings the sparkle and silliness. She’s a happy, playful little dog who seems to wake up each day excited to make friends and have fun. Gracie is incredibly friendly with people and dogs alike—her tail starts wagging the moment she meets someone new. She enjoys her walks, greets other dogs politely on leash, and loves to play. Stuffed toys are her absolute favorite. Her foster family says she’ll sometimes toss a toy up into the air, flip onto her back, and flail her legs around in pure goofy joy. Other times she’ll happily play on the floor for ages, giving playful growls and little barks that make everyone laugh. But as playful as she is, Gracie is also a champion cuddler. She loves curling up on the couch after playtime and soaking up affection. Sometimes she’ll be resting nearby, then suddenly lift her little head just to give her foster a sweet lick on the chin. Her foster family describes her as playful, friendly, loving, sweet, and happy—and they say they will miss both the play sessions and the cuddles the most. Together, Sparky and Gracie make a beautiful pair. They balance each other perfectly—Sparky’s calm, gentle presence paired with Gracie’s playful spirit. Sparky especially relies on Gracie for comfort, and he becomes anxious when separated from her, so they must be adopted together. They are both housebroken, non-destructive, friendly with other dogs, and wonderful with children. They’re also great at meeting new people and settle into home life easily. If you’re looking for double the love, double the companionship, and a pair of dogs whose friendship will melt your heart, Sparky and Gracie are ready to fill your home with warmth, laughter, and cuddles. 🐾 The adoption fee for Sparky and Gracie together is $550. This donation helps to cover veterinary expenses including spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations. Wish Upon a Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, foster based animal rescue. If you would like to meet Sparky and Gracie, please complete our adoption questionnaire at www.wishuponarescue.org/adopt. We will review your responses and be in contact to schedule a meet and greet at a time and place convenient for your family and our team member.
