Story
Poppy is being fostered in Ringwood IL Drum roll please!!!! Introducing Poppy!  This little munchkin weighs all of 11lbs.  She is a female Havanese, salt and pepper colored, meaning she is black with white hair dabbled in and has a white stripe on her chest and her belly. Her date of birth is 11/26/2022.   Poppy grew up in a breeder's home and is probably a papered and registered Havanese; but we don't have any of those things.  Her original person was a Champion show breeder.  She came to MASR because her person fell ill and wasn't able to take care of her and several other Havanese.  Poppy has been well cared for in her previous home but is looking for a new lap to hang out on.   She is potty trained and crate trained, although we think she probably doesn't need a crate at all.  She is crated in her foster home because all the other dogs in the house are HUGE compared to this little girlie.   Poppy will be a flight risk in her new home until she bonds to her person and gets to know the routine.  Currently in her foster home, she has a HUGE yard and an aluminum fence and she can fit right through it like it's a weave pole so she is on leash 24/7.  Poppy is a little nervous when a human reaches for her, but she will follow her human everywhere all over the house.  Poppy has become incredibly fond of the 87yo woman with a walker in her foster home.  She loves to sit in her lap, snuggle and be brushed.  Poppy walks well on leash, but gets little leash zoomies and will pull a little but because she is only 11lbs, she doesn't really pull hard.  When she gets excited, she makes the cutest little noises and is quite this little talker. Poppy was picked on by the other dogs in her previous home, so its a must that the dogs in her forever home are nice to her, but she really doesn't even need another dog, as long as she has a lap to sit on, she will be so happy.  Right now Poppy sleeps in a crate at night, but we think she would be happiest with some little stairs and sleeping in bed with her human.   Are you interesting in giving this adorable little girlie a lap to snuggle on and a bed to call her own? Complete an adoption application today.   Poppy is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, negative for all tick borne diseases, microchipped and taking prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworm.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org. NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2739329##

Story
Dylan is a tiny little puppy know as a Havamalt, a Havanese and Maltese pup. He is a spirited little guy who will start out a bit shy. He was born in a commercial breeding facility and dogs not have the same puppy experiences a dog might have that was born in your home. He wasn't exposed to the same things at an early age. That being said, he is learning and adjusting well now that he is with us. He is a happy guy who loves to play with his mates. He will need house training and regular training like any puppy would. He does like to vocalize so he will be best suited for a home rather than an apartment or condo setting. Dylan is a little guy causing him to be more fragile, He can't be in a home with little kids but would be fine with older kids. Like all puppies, he will need structure and a patient, loving home. We recommend training for all puppies—not only to give Dylan important learning skills, but because you and your puppy will create a stronger bond just by going through the training together. Dylan is fully vetted. He has been neutered, received age-appropriate vaccines, and is microchipped. Subsequent vaccines will be at the expense of his adopter. His adoption donation is $1200..00. He is on the hunt for his own completely committed family. Little dogs can live to be 20+ years old, so Dylan wants to be sure his family is all in for better or for worse! IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 9 MONTHS): You must have a very flexible work schedule or someone home all day. Puppies need to be let out to potty often. They need socialization, bonding, and training (housetraining and behavioral training). If you work long hours, have a busy social schedule, or are not financially secure, then a puppy is not for you. We adopt in and to the local Chicago metro area. We require home visits. If you would like to apply to be considered as an adoption candidate, please fill out an application for adoption on our website at: https://www.rescuetailsanimalwelfare.org/info/adoption We are all volunteers with full-time jobs. We try to get back to all applicants within 72 hours. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us via emial/ Do not call. Story
After a lot of thought, I’ve made the difficult decision to rehome Draco. 🤎 This is not a rushed decision, and I’m being intentional about where he goes because he deserves a loving, stable home. Draco is a 7-month-old Havamal with a protective, deeply loving personality. He’s emotionally intuitive, affectionate, and bonds closely with his person. He naturally brings comfort, companionship, and emotional support. He is: • Groomed regularly • Up to date on shots • Not neutered • Not overly hyper • Very loved and well cared for He will come with a large amount of supplies and essentials. A substantial rehoming fee applies to ensure serious inquiries and the right placement only. Located in Chicago. If interested, please message with information about your home, lifestyle, current pets, and dog experience. 🤎

Story
Poppy is a charming and gentle dog .she is estimated to be about 3 years old and about 14lbs. She was a local stray found on the streets of Chicago. She’s used to a leash and enjoys a walk or playing in a secure yard. Poppy will escape for an adventurer if she has a chance, she needs a savvy owner and secure yard. Poppy has potty skills but like all dogs, she will need a restart and routine to follow in a new environment . Poppy likes being near her people. She’s happy to play with other dogs but can be dominant over others that are more submissive. As a result, we want her to be the only dog in the household, no other dogs, cats or other animals. Like all dogs, she will need structure and a patient, loving home. We recommend training for all dogs —not only to give Poppy important learning skills, but because you and your dog will create a stronger bond just by going through the training together. Poppy is fully vetted. She has been spayed, received age-appropriate vaccines, and is microchipped. Subsequent vaccines will be at the expense of her adopter. Her adoption donation is $600..00. She is on the hunt for her own completely committed family. Little dogs can live to be 20+ years old, so Poppy wants to be sure her family is all in for better or for worse!
