Flopsy Havanese Male Location: Decatur, IL Flopsy is a sweet, somewhat shy boy who loves to play and cuddle equally. He is learning the finer points of playing fetch outside and when he is done he just walks away. He is showing signs of being treat motivated and follows the pack when it is bedtime in his crate. He can be a little shy and needs reassurance from his fosters that noises and chaos are ok! He has a lot of learning and experiences to catch up on. With a confident canine companion to show him how, we know he will grow into the happiest boy and bring joy to a lucky family. Flopsy is being crate trained in his foster home and does very well at night. During the day, he is for some short bursts of time and is still adjusting to this period of separation from his fosters (human and four legged). His snuggle puppy helps! He is also potty training and learning how to do his business outside. Regular grooming will be required throughout his life, including professional grooming approximately every 6 weeks with consistent brushing in between. He has been seen by the veterinarian and is perfectly healthy with no concerns. He is microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and has been neutered. Adoption fee: $400 Applications are processed in 7–10 business days. An approved application is required before a meet and greet. All family members, including resident dogs, must attend, and adopters must travel to Decatur IL. We do not provide transportation. If flying home with your new pet, Flopsy must ride in the cabin with his family; cargo flights are not permitted. Young adult dogs are a lifetime commitment of 15+ years. If at any point Flopsy cannot remain with his adopter, he must be returned to Leia’s Hope Canine Rescue. Applications and additional information can be found at leiashope.org.

She came to us from the streets of San Antonio, covered in fleas and matted hair, and proved what an incredible girl she is by raising two healthy puppies. With her mama duties complete, it’s finally Roxy’s turn to find a forever home where she can soak up all the love she’s been giving so freely. Roxy LOVES humans. If you’re sitting, she’s sitting with you. If you’re in bed, she’s right there too — usually as close as possible. She has a hilarious talent for diving under blankets like a dolphin through water and is happiest snuggled next to you on a chair or in bed. Roxy has amazing skills when it comes to fluffing up a bed or begging to be picked up – and these skills are best enjoyed in person. She’s a smart girl and fully potty trained, confidently using a doggy door. When it’s playtime, Roxy enjoys enthusiastically “killing” her toys with a good shake — squeakers beware! Once playtime is over, she’s all about cuddling back up with her favorite person. Roxy would be happiest as the only dog in the home. While she can tolerate other dogs, she doesn’t love sharing attention and truly shines when she gets to be the center of someone’s world. What she lacks in interest for canine friends, she more than makes up for in pure devotion to her humans. Roxy is affectionate, loyal, and endlessly loving — the kind of dog who wants to give all her love to one family. Pippa is fostered in Columbia, Missouri Meet Pippa – Your Future Cuddle Companion.  Looking for a loyal little shadow who just wants to be close to you?  This tiny Havanese is the definition of a lapdog. The moment you sit down, she’ll be right there, snuggled up and soaking in all the love. She absolutely adores being held and would happily spend her day in your arms or carried around like the little princess she is. Because of her very petite size, Pippa will need close supervision when outdoors—she’s small enough to slip through tight spaces, and even large birds could pose a risk. A safe, attentive home is a must for this little girl. It is recommendation that she also have a physically fenced yard. Pippa isn’t housebroken yet, but she shows great potential! She keeps her playpen dry for up to 7 hours overnight, and with a consistent routine and a patient, committed adopter, she can absolutely learn.  If you’re ready for a sweet, affectionate companion who just wants to be by your side, Pippa might be the perfect match for you. Bear is fostered in Camdenton, Missouri Bear is a 2 year old male tan havanese. He is approximately 10 lbs and quite the little cuddle bug.  He is a little shy and would be a great fit for someone wanting a smaller breed.   Bear is in a foster home with dogs of all sizes and he prefers to be with dogs of his own size.  He has a sweet disposition and would be ideal with a fenced yard, as this is what he has been accustomed to.  He is a delightful little guy and really blossomed after recently being groomed.   Bear is microchipped, neutered and up to date on vaccinations.  He is also receiving monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworms.     ##2699743##

Archie and Ivy are brother and sister, purebred Havanese, born on March 15, 2019, looking for a forever home where they can be part of an active family home life. These seven-year-olds are social, friendly, and well-mannered companions who do well on a leash and get along with other dogs. They are wonderful with children and have spent the last 4 years around infants and toddlers. They are at their best in a household where someone is home the majority of the time to provide the consistent companionship this affectionate breed craves. We our now empty nesters and we are looking for a household that would provide a loving home and lots of attention and activity for these two lovable dogs. Archie is a sturdy and handsome 20-pound boy who enjoys walks, car rides, sleeping and being a loyal companion. He is a bossy brother to Ivy but is protective of her as well. He is a true people-person who prefers to be exactly where the action is, making him the ultimate buddy for anyone looking for a devoted sidekick. Whether you're moving from room to room or settling in for a quiet evening, Archie’s main goal is to be near his favorite humans, offering steady friendship and a wagging tail. Archie is current with his shots, fixed, and is in good health. He has had ear infections, but with medicine manages just fine. Ivy, weighing in at a dainty 12 pounds, brings a wonderful balance of personality to the family. While she shares the breed’s affectionate nature, she possesses a lovely independent streak that allows her to explore and relax on her own terms. However, don't let her self-sufficiency fool you—she is a world-class snuggler who thoroughly enjoys curling up for some quality one-on-one time once she’s ready to settle down.
