Lucky is a sweet, loving dog who truly enjoys being around people. He doesn’t like being left alone too long because he just wants to be near those he loves. He’s gentle with kids and friendly with other dogs, and he would make a perfect companion for a caring family.❤️❤️

Story
Marcella aka Marcy is a 3 yr old female Havanese.  She is a funny little sweetheart. Her name means “Little Warrior” She had a rough start to life as a retired breeder.  She came to her foster home in November and foster mom doesn’t believe she had ever been inside a home before she came to them. She would not eat out of a dog bowl and her foster family had to pour her food on the floor before she would eat.  Now she runs to her place to eat when she hears food going into her bowl.  She had to go outside with a long leash because she didn’t trust any people and refused to come back in unless her foster mom opened the door and walked into the kitchen.  She’s doing great on potty training but does need her new family to continue to work with her.  She loves going for car rides and looking out the window, she enjoys walks but she does best if you take the same way each day until she gets used to the new sounds.  She is not a fan of being picked up until she trusts you.  If you pick her up before she feels safe with you, she will freeze or start to tremble.  Marcy will need her forever family to understand they will need to earn her trust and she will not immediately go to them.  Her foster mom can tell you some things they did to slowly show her that she is safe, loved and helped to build her confidence. Marcy needs a home that is more quiet and calm.  Loud voices and fast movements make her fearful so a home without young children would be best.  Marcy loves other calm dogs.  There are several dogs of varying sizes and cats in her foster home and Marcy does well with all of them and likes to snuggle with several of the dogs.   Marcy’s forever family will need to go slow, give her space, build her confidence and understand it could take several months before she trusts you.  However the first time she wags her tail and walks to you when you get home so you can pet her, your heart melts and you know she trusts you. Story
Dylan is a tiny little puppy know as a Havamalt, a Havanese and Maltese pup. He is a spirited little guy who will start out a bit shy. He was born in a commercial breeding facility and dogs not have the same puppy experiences a dog might have that was born in your home. He wasn't exposed to the same things at an early age. That being said, he is learning and adjusting well now that he is with us. He is a happy guy who loves to play with his mates. He will need house training and regular training like any puppy would. He does like to vocalize so he will be best suited for a home rather than an apartment or condo setting. Dylan is a little guy causing him to be more fragile, He can't be in a home with little kids but would be fine with older kids. Like all puppies, he will need structure and a patient, loving home. We recommend training for all puppies—not only to give Dylan important learning skills, but because you and your puppy will create a stronger bond just by going through the training together. Dylan is fully vetted. He has been neutered, received age-appropriate vaccines, and is microchipped. Subsequent vaccines will be at the expense of his adopter. His adoption donation is $1200..00. He is on the hunt for his own completely committed family. Little dogs can live to be 20+ years old, so Dylan wants to be sure his family is all in for better or for worse! IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 9 MONTHS): You must have a very flexible work schedule or someone home all day. Puppies need to be let out to potty often. They need socialization, bonding, and training (housetraining and behavioral training). If you work long hours, have a busy social schedule, or are not financially secure, then a puppy is not for you. We adopt in and to the local Chicago metro area. We require home visits. If you would like to apply to be considered as an adoption candidate, please fill out an application for adoption on our website at: https://www.rescuetailsanimalwelfare.org/info/adoption We are all volunteers with full-time jobs. We try to get back to all applicants within 72 hours. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us via emial/ Do not call. There is no one to answer a phone, RescueTailsAnimalWelfare@gmail.com. Rescue Tails Animal Welfare is an in home volunteer foster based rescue. We are not a brick and mortar. There is no building to visit If you aren’t looking to adopt but still would like to help, please consider a donation for his food, housing, and veterinary care. Story
Havapoo Harkin came to us by no fault of his own after finding himself homeless & in an Indiana kill shelter. This is a nice, friendly boy who is good with people & other dogs. He is very sweet, happy but would benefit from some basic obedience and confidence building because he is nervous in new situations. His approx. birth date is 03/17/25 and he currently weighs 10.2#. We are guessing at his breed makeup due to his coat. She has been vet. checked, neutered, micro chipped, is up to date on routine shots & wormings including rabies, and has been treated with flea & heart worm preventative per our protocol. He is heart worm & tick born illness negative. His adoption donation is $400 and needs to be cash, certified check, money order or a debit/credit card. There is a 3% processing fee when using a debit/credit card. We do not ship or transport. Please email for an application if you would like to provide this nice kid with his forever home. ##2688446##
