Meet Luna - Love Worth Waiting For Luna is a little Havanese mix with a gentle spirit and a heart that's just beginning to discover what it means to be loved. Having spent much of her life as a breeding dog with limited human interaction, Luna is still learning that people can be kind, patient, and safe. She's not the type of dog who will immediately jump into your lap or shower you with kisses. Instead, she's looking for someone special who understands that the best relationships are sometimes built slowly. Over the past few weeks, Luna has started showing signs that she's settling into her new life. She's recently discovered the joy of zoomies, and seeing her race around with newfound confidence is enough to make anyone smile. Every day she grows a little more comfortable, a little more content, and a little more trusting. Luna does wonderfully with the small dogs in her foster home and takes comfort in having canine companions around. Because of this, we believe she would do best in a home with another friendly small dog who can help show her the ropes and build her confidence. She's a quiet girl who prefers a calm environment and doesn't enjoy loud noises or a lot of commotion. Her favorite place to relax is perched on the top of the couch, stretched out and keeping an eye on the world around her. Luna has a crate that she happily uses, especially at mealtime. Due to some food guarding behaviors, she prefers to eat in her crate and likes to enjoy treats there as well. She'll often carry a special treat back to her safe space and save it until she's ready to enjoy it.She's making good progress with house training and will go outside to potty, though she hasn't quite mastered the doggy door yet. Accidents in the home are infrequent and continue to decrease as she gains confidence and learns her routine. Luna doesn't play with toys just yet, and she's still figuring out how to be a cherished family pet. What she needs most is patience, understanding, and someone willing to let her move at her own pace. The family who chooses Luna won't be bringing home an instant cuddle bug. They'll be bringing home a dog whose trust must be earned, whose confidence will blossom with time, and whose love will be all the more meaningful because of the journey it took to get there. For the right person, Luna won't just be a rescue dog. She'll be a beautiful reminder that some of life's greatest rewards are worth waiting for. ##2758603##

Another sad case of neglect for a senior dog. 10 years old with cataracts, hard of hearing and just needing a safe, soft place to lay his head. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update.
