Meet George! This adorable Poodle mix is full of spunk, curiosity, and charm. Whether he's chasing toys, asking for a belly rub, or curling up with one of his stuffies for a well earned nap, George approaches every day with enthusiasm. George is currently participating in our Puppy Socialization Program and loves meeting new buddies! He's also working hard on his basic manners and commands. Due to George's demanding nature, he would do best in a home without cats and with younger dogs his size or bigger. While he's not much of a snuggler, he is kennel trained and settles in nicely when it's time to relax. He is also great when walking on a leash, but he'd much rather spend his time playing at home or in the yard rather than going on a long walk. Ready to add some fun and love to your life? Hatch is here and ready to be your scruffy crush! This boy knows how to have fun and lounge with the best! One thing we love about him is how he can fit a whole afternoon of fun into about five minutes. A little chase with a dog friend, a few happy laps around the yard, and then he’s stretched out in the grass ready to enjoy the breeze together at a perfectly leisurely pace. With that sweet scruffy face and a belly that presents itself for rubbing at the perfect time, he makes a pretty convincing case for slowing down to enjoy a moment with him. He’s happy to meet new people, soak up their affection, and roll onto his back when the loving is especially good. He has a comfortable way of being with people- enjoying his attention, then settling nearby while the day carries on. He’d be lovely company for someone who likes having a dog around for all the everyday stuff. And his dog friendships? Those are pretty sweet, too. Hatch recently made friends with a bouncy, tall dog named Marley and they were fast friends, almost immediately sparking up a fun game of chase before lying down in the grass together. Playing was fun, but hanging out together was clearly just as good. A friendly dog who enjoys both backyard games and a lazy afternoon could be a wonderful companion for him. Hatch brings good manners to all his doggie-friendships. He reads other dogs’ cues, respects their space, and happily shares affection from his people. He enjoys a little tug with a buddy and can sit patiently for his turn when treats are being handed out. There’s a lot to love about a boy who can have fun with the group and then settle right alongside them. He’s also a pleasant walking buddy, walking nicely beside his person and responding easily to guidance. Nev has a simple recipe for a good day- a few toys to choose from, a walk around the neighborhood and a person willing to pet her for just a little longer. At 14 pounds, she’s small enough to curl up in your lap, but she brings the perfect amount of spunk to playtime. She can happily entertain herself with her toys, then come over and nudge your hand with her head when she’s ready for affection. She lives in a foster home with other dogs and has also lived with cats and big dogs. She enjoys playing with canine friends once she knows them, but she’s just as happy making her own fun. What she really makes her happy is having a person close by. Nev may be a little shy when she first arrives somewhere new. Give her a bit of time, and her confident, affectionate personality starts to show. She’s been lovely with children- playful and gentle, without getting too jumpy or mouthy. She walks nicely on leash, is comfortable in her crate and is generally a quiet little housemate.
