Story
Cuddles is about 3 years old, he was a rescue transfer to us from a local shelter. He was surrendered by his owner and was just not doing well in the shelter environment so we agreed to help. He was cautious and tentative at first but now has full run of his foster home, does well with their other cats and loves people. He loves to hang out with his foster siblings and will also chill on the couch watching tv with his humans. He just needs a patient home, one with no immediate expectations and where he can settle in at his own pace.   LOCATION: Foster home  Visit http://greatpets.org/cat-adoption-application for an online application Cuddles $150 adoption fee includes his vet exam while in our care, felv/fiv test, fecal, neuter surgery, microchip, flea treatment, and current vaccinations   April 26, 2024, 9:41 am

Story
Midsommar came to Smittens from Mexico. She has no eyes- we're not sure if she has genetic microopthalmia, or if her eyes were a result of untreated eye infections as a kitten. When she came into rescue, Midsommar also tested positive for FeLV. Despite all that Smittens got her the vet care she needed, put her in a loving foster home, and Midsommar is thriving! She is very sweet and loving, and wants to be near you throughout the day, even if she is just napping in a chair nearby. She gets along with dogs as long as they are gentle and patient. She has a good appetite and loves treats, too. She likes small toys and catnip. Because she is FeLV+ Midsommar cannot live with other cats that do not already have FeLV. FeLV is not contagious to other animals including humans or dogs. Her viral status may shorten her lifespan, however there is no treatment or specific needs that Midsommar needs in the meantime! She just wants a home to love her, for however long she may have left, whether that be a year or 10 years.

These pups are in Oceanside, California too!

Story
How this pet arrived: Snowflake was brought in by his previous owner on April 25, 2024. Say hello to Snowflake! This handsome boy can be a bit shy and is looking for a calm, indoor environment where he can feel safe and secure. Caring for a Persian cat requires special attention to their unique needs, particularly regarding grooming and environmental considerations. Due to their long, luxurious fur, regular grooming is essential to prevent mats and tangles, while also minimizing the risk of hairballs. Persian cats are prone to eye discharge due to their facial structure, so it's important to gently clean their eyes daily to prevent staining and potential irritation. Additionally, their flat faces can lead to respiratory issues, so it's crucial to keep their living environment clean and free from irritants like dust and smoke. Diet is another vital aspect of Persian cat care. Providing high-quality cat food, preferably formulated for long-haired breeds, helps maintain their coat's health and overall well-being. Are you ready to adopt Snowflake, bring a cat carrier when you come to take him home today. Primary Color: White Weight: 7.7 Age: 2yrs 0mths 0wks
