Story
IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit: www.frecklesfoundation.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Jewel was clearly born to be a cherished indoor cat. When she was found lost and overwhelmed outdoors, the harsh conditions had taken a toll on her skin. She needed months of treatment and wore her little cone while she healed. At first, she was so frightened and on alert that she couldn’t even relax enough to sleep. But this brave girl has made a beautiful comeback! With love, consistent care, and a safe environment, Jewel has made a full recovery and blossomed back into the happy, pampered princess she was always meant to be. Today, she’s healthy, active, enjoys all kinds of food and treats, and takes the sweetest belly-up naps. Jewel may be cautious at first, but once she trusts you, she’s a loving little chatterbox who enjoys cuddles, morning pets, and sleeping nearby. She’s tidy, loves being brushed, keeps her litter area spotless, and enjoys perching up high to watch over her favorite person. Jewel will thrive in a loving home where she can enjoy plenty of affection and be treated like the special princess she is. She can live happily with other cats as long as she has her own space and resources, along with plenty of one-on-one time and attention. She’ll appreciate being given time to settle in and build trust at her own pace. The adoption fee for this cat is $300. Application for adoption: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FRE/Cat If you are viewing on Petfinder and cannot see photos or would like to apply for this kitten, please visit our website www.frecklesfoundation.org ***Please note that the first step in the process is to complete our nonbinding application which does not commit you in any way, but allows us to help you to find a great match. Our application review process also includes a veterinary reference check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives (if applicable) and examined annually by your vet.*** Cats adopted through Freckles Foundation & Animal Rescue must be indoor only and may not be declawed unless already declawed at the time of rescue.

Not good with kids, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Adopted as a kitten, Kiwi is 7.5 now. We have another cat. She is ok with her but will instigate a fight on occasion. We have 2 dogs which she ignores. We had another male cat which she bonded with, however he was old and developed cancer and is now gone. My daughter moved home with us and Kiwi has starting marking my daughter's space. I have tried several behavioral modifications but it has not helped. Prior to this I am not aware of her not using the litter box. This behavior has been going on now for some months. She otherwise acts normal. She really is not a friendly cat except to my husband and myself. She has never done well at the groomers, so I keep her brushed as best I can. Kiwi would do best in a quiet household without other pets. She uses the litter box regularly so I am perplexed as to why she has decided to go elsewhere. I am not physically able to keep up with the extra cleaning. I am sorry to have to rehome her, but I believe in the right home she will be happy.

Story
Simba is a handsome adult Himalayan rescued off the streets. We think he is around 3 years old. He has such a loving sweet endearing personality despite his poor past life. His fur is still a bit scraggly but with with good brushing it will be glowing soon enough. Simba gets along famously with other cats. Loves attention and being dodged on. We would like to see Simba in a home experienced caring for long haired cats due to the daily brushing and maintenance. Fostered in Fairfax, VA

Story
Sedgad and Sukkar are two gorgeous young brothers who were not wanted anymore after being purchased as kittens. We are so grateful they are with us and are safe and sound. The brothers are approximately 2 years old as far as we can tell. They had a rough adjustment when they came to us. Scared and timid. Their whole lives were uprooted. They absolutely love being stroked and petted. We are going to start working on brushing but based on what we can see they will be just fine. Initially they will hide in a new home but once they feel safe they will show their true colors. Gentle and calm. We would like to see them in a home experienced with the Himalayan breed and accepting of the fact that they will need their grooming kept up especially with the long fur. Fostered in Fairfax, VA
