Story
DOB: March 6, 2024 Kanga is being fostered at one of Toronto Cat Rescue’s pet store partner locations. Please note that if you’re approved to adopt, you’ll need to pick them up from the store within 24 hours of being approved. Kanga is a beautiful young Persia cat, she is a sweetheart with the most gorgeous blue eyes and a really gentle personality. She came into foster care with her 10-week-old kitten, and now that her baby is growing up, she’s so ready for a home where she can finally be the one getting pampered. She is a total people-cat who loves hanging out and being part of the family. As soon as you step anywhere near her, she is just sitting there waiting to be petted. She’s a morning girl, too—the second you wake up, she’s right there waiting to greet you for pets, cuddles, and attention to start the day. She is also completely obsessed with being brushed. It's the cutest thing—as soon as she sees the brush in your hand, she will literally run across the room to you waiting for her grooming session. Because she is a Persian, it is incredibly important that her adopter truly understands the unique needs and daily commitment of this breed. Her gorgeous long coat requires daily brushing to prevent painful mats, and her eyes easily get watery, so she needs someone dedicated to gently wiping them every single day to keep her healthy, clean, and comfortable. Their small, folded ears also trap dirt and moisture easily, so her weekly routine will need to include a quick, gentle ear cleaning to prevent infections. Persians are also prone to hairballs due to all that fluff, so keeping up with her daily grooming is highly recommended. Don't let her fluffy looks fool you, though—she is still very young and playful. She loves tearing around the house, playing and running along with her kitten like a big kid. Because she has so much youthful energy, she would also be very happy if adopted into a home with another young cat to be her playmate, as long as there is a proper, slow introduction. When it comes to food, she definitely has her preferences. She is a big fan of dry food and prefers her crunchy kibble most days, but she’ll happily eat some wet food once in a while and loves treats.

Story
DOB Dec 25, 2025 Roo is being fostered at one of Toronto Cat Rescue’s pet store partner locations. Please note that if you’re approved to adopt, you’ll need to pick them up from the store within 24 hours of being approved. Meet Roo! This gorgeous little Persian kitten has proven to be an absolute fighter, and he is finally ready to find his perfect forever home. When he first arrived in foster care at 10 weeks old, he was incredibly small, badly nourished, and needed a lot of extra help to pull through. His foster parent had to syringe-feed him around the clock, but because of his strong spirit, he made a full recovery. Today, he has transformed into a beautiful, purr machine and completely adorable kitten. Roo is the ultimate little companion with a heart of gold. He absolutely loves to cuddle with his foster parent, and he has developed the cutest habit of jumping right up onto the desk to curl up for a nap while you work. He is also super playful, full of youthful kitten energy, and brings so much joy to the room. He already has excellent litter box habits and a great appetite, though he can be a bit picky when it comes to his wet food. Because he is so social and loves to play, Roo would absolutely love to be adopted together with his mom (Kanga), who is his favorite built-in playmate. If not adopted with her, he would do best in a home with another young kitten where they can keep up with regular playdates and keep each other company. Because Roo is a Persian, his new family needs to fully understand and commit to the unique daily maintenance this breed requires. His long, beautiful coat needs to be brushed thoroughly every single day to prevent painful matting. Like most Persians, his eyes easily get watery and his small ears can trap dirt, so his adopter will need to be dedicated to gently wiping his eyes daily and cleaning his ears weekly to keep him healthy and comfortable. He will also be prone to hairballs as he grows, so regular grooming and a hairball prevention routine will be essential. Roo would love a home where he can get plenty of interactive playtime, lots of cuddles, and a family who is excited to keep up with his daily spa routines.
