Story
This handsome guy is a 3-year-old, extra-large, incredibly fluffy blue-eyed cat who looks like he could have some Ragdoll or Maine Coon in his family tree. He is truly stunning, but his best feature is the sweet, silly personality that comes out once he feels safe with his people. He can be shy and cautious, but with people he trusts he loves affection. He sleeps cuddled up with us at night, rolls onto his back asking for belly rubs, loves to “talk” and meow back and forth, and has a morning routine of sitting on the bathroom counter keeping us company while we get ready. He has even learned to tolerate being picked up by our son, although he would definitely prefer affection on his own terms! We adopted him as a kitten and hoped he would eventually adjust to our busy family. Unfortunately, we have realized that our home simply isn't the right environment for him. We have two young, active boys who frequently have friends over, as well as a dog, and our house tends to be loud, busy and fast-paced. Lennon prefers quiet spaces and spends much of his time in our bedroom, where he feels most secure. We believe he would blossom in a calm, predictable adult household with someone patient who will let him build trust at his own pace. His anxiety has also contributed to inappropriate urination but 98% of the time he will use his litter box it is just once in a while we’ve noticed this seems to be anxiety driven. He has been evaluated by our veterinarian, including blood and urine testing, with no medical cause identified, and we have tried several interventions. Lennon isn't a cat who doesn't like people, he's a sensitive cat who needs a quieter world than we're able to give him. Once he trusts you, there is a wonderfully sweet, quirky and affectionate companion underneath that handsome, shy exterior. We would love to find him a calm home where that side of him can really thrive. Lennon lives in Portland with his family and his rehoming fee is $150. Lennon is an inside only cat.   For more information on meeting and adopting this kitty, please fill out a pre-adoption application under "ADOPT" on our website at WWW.CATSCRADLERESCUE.COM.
