Story
How this pet arrived: Victor was brought in by a community member on January 6, 2026.Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Victor! Victor is a sweet, sensitive boy who's still learning that the world isn't such a scary place. New people and environments can be tricky for him, so he'll thrive best with an adopter who can advocate for his space. Victor needs the freedom to move away if he's uncomfortable and to approach people on his own terms with patience and understanding. His foster reports that he's shown tremendous growth as he's gotten more comfortable - accepting gentle pets and affection. He has some quirky front legs, likely from a congenital condition or an old injury, but they don't slow him down and only add to his unique charm. Victor has met other dogs while in care and has done well. A home with children older than 8 would be ideal, and any kids should be present for a meet-and-greet. With the right advocate by his side and a calm, supportive home, Victor has so much potential to blossom into a loving companion. Don't forget to bring a leash and collar for a safe ride home! At SDHS:Victor has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He is now ready for his new home!Shy/Fearful Dog: Victor requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about him. Primary Color: Brown Weight: 38.8 Age: 3yrs 3mths 0wks

Story
How this pet arrived: Dash was brought in by his previous owner on February 15, 2025 Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Dash! He's a young dog in training who's still learning that the world can be a safe place. He may start out cautious when everything is new, but with patience and a calm, steady approach, his sweet nature starts to shine. He can seem a bit reserved at first, yet once he trusts you, he really begins to blossom. Dash isn't walking on a leash just yet, so he'll need a fully enclosed outdoor space where he can safely potty and explore. He'll also appreciate a cozy, quiet spot indoors where he can retreat, relax, and recharge when he's had enough excitement. Having a confident, well-adjusted dog in the home would be a big help - someone who can show him the ropes and help him feel more secure as he continues building confidence. Dash would do best in a home with children ages 8 and up, and all family members should be present for the meet-and-greet. With encouragement, consistency, and a little belief in his potential, Dash is ready to become a beloved member of the family! At SDHS:Dash has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He is now ready for his new home! Shy/Fearful Dog: This pet requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 33.2 Age: 0yrs 11mths 1wks
