Story
Monaco is in a foster home. If you would like to meet him, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.Just like his glamorous namesake, Monaco is small, stylish, and effortlessly charming. This approx. 1-year-old black-and-white corgi/retriever mix may be about 30 pounds, but he’s got main-character personality wrapped in a laid-back, fluffy, easygoing package.True to his name, Monaco enjoys life at a relaxed, luxurious pace. He’s a pretty chill guy who prefers lounging close to his people over high-speed adventures - Think less “high-speed race car,” more “sunny seaside stroll.”Monaco is a tripod, but don’t expect that to slow him down. Like any true icon, he adapts beautifully and keeps right on going without missing a beat. He’s still building strength so a home with minimal stairs (or someone willing to help him navigate them) would suit him best. He’s potty trained and sleeps soundly in his crate—his own cozy little suite. Monaco does love his people and may whine when they’re not nearby. After all, what’s a place like Monaco without good company? When it comes to other dogs, Monaco just needs a proper “arrival period” to settle in. Give him time to decompress, and he’ll be ready to make lifelong friends.Dining is, of course, an experience. Monaco is more of a grazer and prefers his kibble topped with wet food—because even everyday meals should feel a little fancy.Monaco is looking for a home where he can enjoy the good life: close to his people, at an easy pace, with comfort, patience, and love. If you’re ready to welcome a resilient, loving companion with a touch of Riviera charm, Monaco is ready to move in. We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog. Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess. Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area.
