Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Phoebe is an approximately 7 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi who came to us as an owner surrender. It was a sad and hard decision for her owner, who had some significant life changes. She is a fairly mellow and well-mannered girl who weighs around 21 pounds. On July 16th, she will be updated on vet work and will likely receive a dental shortly after. Her fee is $150. Phoebe enjoys being close to her people, and a somewhat quiet home in which she won't be left alone a lot would be best for her. We're really hoping to find her a home that is experienced with corgis. She has done well with other dogs, cats, and kids. She walks pretty well on a leash. She's not one to really romp and play with toys. She would make a nice companion for someone. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 17, 2026, 10:14 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Volunteer fave in the house! Bram arrived at the shelter on 9/29/2024, after he went unclaimed at the city pound. He's a happy and energetic husky mix with icy blue eyes. We do think he's mixed with some type of herding breed. He's friendly and ready for action at all times. He's also very loving. His size is in the medium range and he's around 3 years old. He has been vet checked, neutered, and chipped. His fee is $150. We're hoping to find Bram a home that has some experience with husky types. They are notorious clowns who love to run! Bram does require basic obedience training and a lot of regular exercise to keep him settled. He loves to play and be with people. He has a tendency to be strong willed so he needs an experienced owner who is ready and willing to work with this. Cats are most likely a no for him. An adult only home would be best and a fenced yard would be perfection. He could do well with a well mannered dog of similar size. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application as been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Keep an eye on your emails if you apply. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Rowdy arrived at MCHS on 6/13/2026, a transfer from one of our rescue friends after originally coming from a South Dakota Reservation area. He is a solid young shepherd looking mix who is around 6 to 9 months old and has some growing left to do. He will need some basic training and has a great attitude. He has been vet checked and neutered and his fee is $150. Rowdy generally resembles a German shepherd and has the ears and coloring of one, but he definitely could have some other breeds in his mix, like husky and various types of herding breed dog. Heelers and other herding breeds and their mixes are very common on Reservations. He is strong and active so he'll definitely need some good exercise. We do think he'd do well with other dogs. Cats? Maybe, with work and training. He does tend to live up to his name a little bit. He'd probably do okay with older kids, too.
