Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Volunteer fave in the house! Bram arrived at the shelter on 9/29/2024, after he went unclaimed at the city pound. He's a happy and energetic husky mix with icy blue eyes. We do think he's mixed with some type of herding breed. He's friendly and ready for action at all times. He's also very loving. His size is in the medium range and he's around 3 years old. He has been vet checked, neutered, and chipped. His fee is $150. We're hoping to find Bram a home that has some experience with husky types. They are notorious clowns who love to run! Bram does require basic obedience training and a lot of regular exercise to keep him settled. He loves to play and be with people. He has a tendency to be strong willed so he needs an experienced owner who is ready and willing to work with this. Cats are most likely a no for him. An adult only home would be best and a fenced yard would be perfection. He could do well with a well mannered dog of similar size. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application as been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Keep an eye on your emails if you apply. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 17, 2026, 2:52 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Stella has now been waiting for a year. She came to the shelter on 7/24/2025 after she had been at the city pound for the legal hold time, but we had a little bit of background information about her. Her former owner called her Stella and she ended up at the pound due to the owner's living situation. Stella is around 3 years old and has a shepherd/husky look, but she could also be mixed with other breeds. She has an eye-catching almost solid gray coat and amber eyes. She has been fully vetted and microchipped and her fee is $150. Stella is pretty well mannered and very intelligent. She is the epitome of a canine princess and would prefer to be the only pet in the home. As beautiful as she is, she deserves that! She seems to have had a bit of basic training but would be willing to learn more. Being as she appears to be mixed with husky, she will require regular exercise and would benefit from a secure environment. We think older kids would be fine.  Note:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Rowdy arrived at MCHS on 6/13/2026, a transfer from one of our rescue friends after originally coming from a South Dakota Reservation area. He is a solid young shepherd looking mix who is around 6 to 9 months old and has some growing left to do. He will need some basic training and has a great attitude. He has been vet checked and neutered and his fee is $150. Rowdy generally resembles a German shepherd and has the ears and coloring of one, but he definitely could have some other breeds in his mix, like husky and various types of herding breed dog. Heelers and other herding breeds and their mixes are very common on Reservations. He is strong and active so he'll definitely need some good exercise. We do think he'd do well with other dogs. Cats? Maybe, with work and training. He does tend to live up to his name a little bit. He'd probably do okay with older kids, too. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Story
Meet Milo, an 8 year old Husky with a calm, gentle personality that's a little different from what you might expect! While he still enjoys the outdoors, he's a mellow guy who is happiest soaking up the sights and sounds of nature. Give him a comfy spot outside and he'll happily spend time watching the trees, wildlife, and everything happening around him. Milo is incredibly friendly, affectionate, and loves to snuggle with his people. He's a quiet, easygoing companion who enjoys his naps just as much as he enjoys relaxing outside. He currently lives peacefully with two cats, has been around children, and is accustomed to spending supervised time outdoors. Milo is carrying extra pounds, so he will need a family who will help him get back to a healthier weight with regular walks and adventures at his own pace. Although he's entering his senior years, don't let his age fool you. As he sheds those extra pounds, we expect he'll become even more active and eager to enjoy time outside with his family. If you're looking for a sweet, laid back companion with the classic Husky good looks and a surprisingly relaxed personality, Milo may be the perfect match for you. Adoption fee is $450+tax, please apply at www.campcompanion.org

Story
Snowy is a busy, extroverted guy with a contagious cheerful outlook. He is a Lab, Husky and Beagle mix born in rescue on March 14. He loves meeting new friends, whether they have 2 or 4 legs. Loves the water and would be in heaven to join his family on any beach or boating adventure. Trust us when we say he brightens each day and brings lots of laughter wherever he goes. Ready for a fun life, Snowy has a great head start! He's met kids, and spent lots of time with cats and several other dogs. He's great in the car, crates nicely, and is mastering potty training. He is ready to find a family that enjoys doing all the things and wants to incorporate him right in the middle. Snowy currently weighs about 21# and will be the perfect size for anything: road trips to see Grandma, hiking or camping with friends, backyard BBQs with the neighbors. His fosters are working with him on basic obedience commands and promise he will be the star pupil in his class. He's working on walking nicely on leash, seeing new sights and sounds, and experiencing the world. Ongoing socialization will ensure he can lead the life he was meant to. The best fit for Snowy is an active family who sees a dog as a 4-legged extension of the family. His ideal home has another fun-loving pup for him to pal around with, and they have a safely fenced space for playtime. Children old enough to understand how to redirect his puppy teeth are a good fit. Snowy can't wait to meet his forever family and dive right into his new, exciting life! He is being fostered in Minneapolis, MN. Snowy's adoption fee is $550 + MN sales tax (this includes his neuter). He is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. He will be neutered and microchipped at the age of roughly 6 months. The cost of this procedure is included in his adoption fee. Upon adoption, all of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Story
Meet Feta! Feta is a beautiful 2½-year-old Siberian Husky with a resilient spirit and a heart full of love. After spending more than a week surviving on her own, she was finally brought to safety and has been thriving ever since. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and heartworm negative, so she's ready to find a family to call her own. Feta enjoys the company of respectful children and has done well around other dogs. She is not aggressive toward canine companions and may also do well with cats with proper introductions. She appears to be housebroken when kept on a consistent schedule and has some basic training already in place. Like many Huskies, Feta is an active, intelligent dog who will do best with a family committed to providing regular exercise, enrichment, and continued training. In return, you'll gain a loyal, fun-loving companion who is ready for her next adventure. If you're looking for a sweet, resilient Husky who deserves a second chance, Feta may be the perfect addition to your family!
