Story
PK is a beautiful fun-loving 3.5 year old Husky/German Shepard. My former partner's friend had puppies and gave him one; he was not interested in caring for dogs and I ended up taking full responsibility for PK. I am hoping to rehome PK as I work a lot and it saddens me to see him unstimulated and unhappy when I am not home. Also, he is becoming too big and strong for me to keep up and give him regular walks that he deserves. PK is very energetic, so having a big space to run and/or having regular walks and play time are important. I am hoping that, eventually, PK will be adopted and find a loving home that could provide him with all the love and attention that he needs and deserves.

Story
Beautiful husky girl Chiquita, born April 2023, is looking for a home. She is approximately 41 lbs. Her mum and littermates were often seen wandering in the area of the SPCA PV sanctuary and staff and volunteers saw them in deteriorating condition due to a diet heavy on garbage and took them in to give them the care they needed. After she got refuge in the sanctuary, she lived through a hurricane which heavily damaged the shelter, and she had temporary refuge in a home that unfortunately had a landlord that didn't allow dogs.. but in that time, she learned what a home is and what it is meant to be loved. Chiquita is an energetic girl so she’d love a yard with some space to burn off some zoomies but was in a foster home in an apartment. She loves the beach. Her foster mom just loved her, described her as a fast learner, and a great cuddler. She has learned basic commands - sit, come, waits to eat her food. She isn't destructive in the home and did well in the car. She is selective with other dogs, and can be reactive, and would squabble with her siblings. Kids make her nervous so she'd prefer a quiet adult home where she can learn more about the world. Chiquita would be best in a home without cats as she shows high prey drive. Video of Chiquita with her shelter friends: https://www.facebook.com/spcapv/videos/1401202434079126 She is now healthy and vaccinated. If you think you might be her happy home, please contact us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com for more information. Chiquita is currently in Mexico but would love to join her forever home in Canada

Story
Hi, my name is Trixie and I'm a beautiful, well behaved girl who would be the best furry companion. I've been passed around a lot but my foster mom says that's just because I haven't gone to the right home for me yet, because I'm really no trouble at all and am happy just to lie nearby. I'm a good girl when left alone in the house, walk great on leash, love car rides, never bark and know all the basic commands including a few tricks which I will happily entertain you with! I'm great with people big and small, but I don't like cats and I'm pretty selective about other dogs so should be the only pet in the home. I'm pretty agile and can scale fences easily so I would need a little extra vigilance when in the yard or I might go for a little adventure. Keep me safe and I will repay you a hundred fold with my good behaviour and unconditional love. Quinn1 1/2 yrs oldGood with dogsGood with Cats Good with KidsHi, I'm Quinn! I'm a young girl with a big heart. I may be a bit shy at first, but once I get to know you, I promise to be your best friend. I'm a fan of playtime and I love making new friends, whether they're humans, dogs, or even kids. I've even tried to play with cats, though they're not always as enthusiastic. My recall is pretty good too, so you won't have to worry about me wandering off. I'm looking for a forever home with another confident canine companion where I can share my love and playful spirit. If you're looking for a loyal, friendly, and playful companion, then I'm your girl! Let's make some beautiful memories together.

Story
Hello there, I'm Duke! A young chap, as sweet as honey, and friendly as can be. My buddy Ace and I are quite the pair. We're like the canine version of Laurel and Hardy, only less clumsy, I promise! How did I find myself with BARS? Well, you see, Ace and I were found wandering all on our own and ended up in the pound. We weren't claimed, I know, shocking right?? so the nice people at BARS took us in. Our foster mom says we are the nicest boys. I'm smart, I learn fast. I'm also gentle, playful, and cuddly. I'd love a home with Ace or another dog. Why adopt me? Because life is better with a little Duke in it!Good with dogs: yesGood with cats? Name: GeneiveAge: 1 year Size: medium Dogs: yes Cats: adult cats yes Kids: good with babies and kids ?? Hello everyone, I'm Geneive ??I am a very energetic girl who loves to play and is full of fun! I'm still young and I'm still learning new things. I may be a bit shy at first and take some time to warm up to new things . My foster parents work with me and help me become more comfortable and confident. I am fine with other dogs but am totally fine with being by myself as well . I may be a little picky on my treats, but have found some I love . I'm really good in my kennel and I don't bark or whine unless I need to use the bathroom. I am really good at being inside as well and just like to hang out most days and relax . Once I'm outside the energetic side of me comes out and wants to run around and explore. I am very good on my leash and harness and love going for walks or running. I also like to using my husky working talent and pull my foster parent's baby around on her sled. They guide me on how fast I can go and where to go . I enjoy spending time with them. I am also really good in the car . I am learning how to shake a paw and some tricks . Im just the best girl and with time and patience I will continue to impress . If you would like to meet me and see if I am a good fit with your family. Please fill out the adoption application.
