Story
Dakota // Age: 3 Years // Sex: Female // Breed: Pom/Husky // Weight: 20 Pounds // Location: Medicine Hat, Alberta // Good with Dogs? Yes // Good with Cats? Potentially—she may playfully chase but redirects well // Good with Kids? Yes // ❄️ Meet Dakota: The Sassy Snow Queen ❄️ With her icy-blue eyes, confident personality, and signature husky attitude, Dakota is impossible to ignore. She is social, affectionate, playful, and always ready to share her opinion especially when she feels she deserves more attention. ❄️💙 When Dakota wants affection or a snack, she stands on her hind legs and adorably begs with her front paws. She loves meeting new people, adores children, and settled into her foster home as though she had always belonged there. She’s also a vocal girl who whines for attention and sassily talks back when corrected. 🐾🗣️ Dakota has a medium-high energy level and would enjoy a daily walk, active playtime, or a spacious, securely fenced yard. She loves splashing in the pool, tossing a ball around, and playing rowdily with her foster sibling. She would enjoy another playful dog in her home, but it isn’t required. 💦🎾 This clever, food-motivated girl already knows sit, stay, lie down, and speak. She walks well on leash, sleeps peacefully in her kennel, and relaxes when left alone. She is generally house trained but has had some accidents on the concrete basement floor, so she will need continued reinforcement and limited basement access while adjusting. 🦴🏡 Dakota may playfully chase cats but stops when redirected, so thoughtful introductions and supervision will be important. She is looking for an active family that will appreciate her loving heart, playful spirit, and hilariously sassy commentary. 🐕❤️ Likes: Attention, children, meeting new people, playing with dogs, walks, pool time, balls, treats, talking back, and playfully nibbling her foster sibling’s ankles 🥰 Dislikes: Being ignored and being told she has had enough snacks 🙄 If you think Dakota will be a good fit for your family please apply at: https://www.ruffstartanimalrescue.com/dog-application-form
