🐾 Meet Skye! 🐾
Skye is the kind of dog who makes life more fun! This 1-year-old, 40 lb Husky mix is a happy, energetic, affectionate girl who is curious about everything and always ready for her next adventure. 💙
Skye is smart, confident, playful, and incredibly people-oriented. She loves everyone she meets, including kids, and she’s always excited to be part of whatever her humans are doing. She’s a big fan of belly rubs, toys, tug-of-war, walks, sniffing adventures, and — perhaps most importantly — snacks! 😂 Skye is 100% food motivated, which makes her a very fun dog to train.
Her foster family says Skye is one of the smartest dogs they’ve ever met. She’s incredibly observant and seems to pick up on everything happening around her. She knows her routines, understands the rules of the house, and has quickly learned where to sleep, where to play, and how to let her people know when she needs to go outside. She’s also apparently quite the little problem solver — including figuring out how doors work! 😅
Skye is a young Husky mix with plenty of energy, so she’s looking for a family who wants an active companion. She loves going for walks, especially walks where she can take her time sniffing and exploring, and she would happily trade a couch day for a day filled with adventures. Running, playing, training games, hiking, and exploring would all be right up her alley! ❤️
Like any young dog, Skye is still learning her manners and figuring out how the world works. She can pull on leash because she is VERY excited to get where she’s going, and squirrels, rabbits, and birds are particularly fascinating. 🐿️ She’s not reactive or aggressive toward people or dogs — she’s simply an enthusiastic young dog who is still learning that sometimes we walk nicely instead of launching ourselves toward the interesting thing! A family who enjoys positive-reinforcement training will have a blast helping her become an even more fantastic companion. ❤️
She is already house trained, sleeps peacefully through the night, and does well in the car. She can relax in her crate when her foster family is away and has done well for a couple of hours at a time. She’s also generally quiet and isn’t a particularly vocal girl. ❤️
Skye has settled beautifully into foster care and has become more comfortable and confident each day. She’s curious when faced with new experiences and may occasionally be a little cautious, but she’s a smart girl who likes to take things in and figure them out. ❤️
We think Skye would be happiest with an active person or family who wants a dog to take along for life's adventures. Someone who enjoys getting outside, playing, training, exploring, and keeping a young dog’s clever brain busy would be a fantastic match for her. A fenced yard would be a wonderful bonus, but what Skye really needs is a family who will give her plenty of opportunities to use her energy and her very impressive brain. 🧠💨
Skye is still young, which means she has so much potential ahead of her. She doesn’t need to be perfect — she just needs a family willing to continue teaching her, give her plenty to do, and appreciate all the goofy, energetic, affectionate fun that comes with having a young Husky mix.
And according to her foster family? “Whichever home she goes to, the owners will be very lucky. She is an entertainer.” ❤️ We couldn't agree more.
