It took almost 20 minutes in the bark park session before the photographer witnessed the reason for the Humane Society volunteers awarding Rocket Man’s descriptive name. He performed a dash and a zip and a zoom as he took a quick “check it out” tour of the park. At the end of the excursion, 2-year-old Rocket Man settled back into his easy-going personality and shared his disarmingly endearing smile with all the visitors in the bark park. Then Rocket Man turned his attention to a flying squeaky and accomplished a perfect Boxer stare down of an always in season Christmas Elf. Rocket Man is in tip-top shape, weighing only a svelte 39-pounds and easily convinced the squeaky to contentedly surrender. Join him as he gazes at you through his sky-blue eyes with a mischievous grin showing on his face which lets you know that he is silently singing…. ”I’m a Rocket Man……………”

He’s also a smart, food-motivated guy who already knows how to sit and enjoys showing off his good manners—he doesn’t jump on people! Midas loves staying active and would be a great companion for someone who enjoys regular walks, hiking, runs, and exploring new places. He enjoys toys, too, and is always ready for a little fun. As a true Husky, he’s definitely vocal and isn’t shy about sharing his thoughts! He likes other dogs, but he prefers to take his time getting comfortable and warmed up to new canine friends. Once he settles in, he’s an easygoing guy. He could use a little more work on his leash skills, but he’s food motivated and eager to learn. If you’re looking for an affectionate, adventurous, easygoing Husky who will happily be your walking, hiking, and exploring buddy, Midas might just be your guy!Breed is based on physical features. Buck is a 1-year-old Husky mix who was brought to us after being rescued from a not-ideal rehoming situation. This handsome guy is dog friendly, great with kids, crate trained, walks well on a leash, fully vetted and ready to go, not good with cats. Buck has such a joyful, playful personality — he’s the kind of dog that will keep you smiling and bring so much life into your home. Whether it’s going for walks, playing, or just hanging out, he’s happiest being part of the action. And we promise… whoever adopts him is going to feel like they hit the jackpot.

Griff is an almost 6 year old mix. He is very athletic, playful and sweet. He can be a total couch potato or okay fetch and be just as happy. I believe he would do great with another dog in the home, but at least a medium-large in size.

Smoky Linx's estimated DOB is 11/20/2019 and he's a brown and white Husky. This poor dog was found by police, and had a rough start at the haven, but he is doing great now and happy. Though he acts pretty standoffish in his pen, when he's slowly and properly introduced to new people he turns into a big cuddly lovebug. He's fully house trained, crate trained, and walks beautifully on a leash. He's protective and intuitive and can read people incredibly well. He gets along with cats, to a degree. Smoky's only real downfall is that he takes a long time to get used to people. He honestly doesn't seem to be super comfortable with being inside a house, he really shines his brightest when he's outdoors. While on a trip to Roaring River he acted like a whole different dog, totally ignoring strangers, sniffing other dogs, tail wagging, hopping and rolling around and even swimming! We think that Smoky's ideal forever home will be someone who has a big yard with at least a four-foot fence, and preferably a doggie door. Someone who won't make him meet too many visitors, but will take him hiking in parks, and will let him have his own space while being the only dog in the home. All of our pets are fixed, up to date on their vaccinations, and microchipped. The Haven of the Ozarks is open form 9am-4pm, seven days a week.
