Story
It took almost 20 minutes in the bark park session before the photographer witnessed the reason for the Humane Society volunteers awarding Rocket Man’s descriptive name. He performed a dash and a zip and a zoom as he took a quick “check it out” tour of the park. At the end of the excursion, 2-year-old Rocket Man settled back into his easy-going personality and shared his disarmingly endearing smile with all the visitors in the bark park. Then Rocket Man turned his attention to a flying squeaky and accomplished a perfect Boxer stare down of an always in season Christmas Elf. Rocket Man is in tip-top shape, weighing only a svelte 39-pounds and easily convinced the squeaky to contentedly surrender. Join him as he gazes at you through his sky-blue eyes with a mischievous grin showing on his face which lets you know that he is silently singing…. ”I’m a Rocket Man……………”

Story
Orville thoroughly enjoyed his outing in the bark park, leaving no leaf unturned and no scent unsniffed. His genetics are delightfully natural with his thick and amazingly soft coat. When you meet Orville, you will be greeted with his laid-back, peaceful, and friendly nature. He takes treats respectfully, walks gently on leash and when he senses your benevolence, he will keep his attention nicely focused on you and closely follow you about. Orville was joined in the escapade by Ruby Sue, a fun-filled canine whose Boxer underbite smiles will intrigue and entertain. Orville and Ruby Sue comfortably share a kennel together. Both of these seven-year-old “pups” had been previously adopted from our Humane Society into the same loving home. They have rejoined us now as their human had to enter a nursing home and couldn’t continue to care for them. Orville is a huggable, life experienced canine who has a smile that is heartwarming and happy. Like all canines, Orville enjoys a good quality chew bone or a piece of chicken jerky. It is not too surprising that Orville’s other favorite snack is a big bowl of Redenbacher’s popcorn.

Story
Meet Midas! Midas is a handsome 5-year-old Husky boy with a big personality and an even bigger heart! He’s social, outgoing, and loves getting affection from his people. He’s also a smart, food-motivated guy who already knows how to sit and enjoys showing off his good manners—he doesn’t jump on people! Midas loves staying active and would be a great companion for someone who enjoys regular walks, hiking, runs, and exploring new places. He enjoys toys, too, and is always ready for a little fun. As a true Husky, he’s definitely vocal and isn’t shy about sharing his thoughts! He likes other dogs, but he prefers to take his time getting comfortable and warmed up to new canine friends. Once he settles in, he’s an easygoing guy. He could use a little more work on his leash skills, but he’s food motivated and eager to learn. If you’re looking for an affectionate, adventurous, easygoing Husky who will happily be your walking, hiking, and exploring buddy, Midas might just be your guy!Breed is based on physical features. All shelter animals are considered to be a mixture of breeds.

Story
Meet Chester! Chester is heartworm negative, neutered, fully vaccinated, and has an absolutely fantastic personality. He is just a genuinely good dog. He currently lives with seven resident dogs ranging from 40–100 pounds and loves being part of the pack. He is respectful with dogs of all sizes, shares toys, humans, and dog friends, takes corrections well, and has shown no dominant or possessive behaviors. Because he is so social, I think he would be happiest in a home with another friendly dog. Chester loves his people and is a serious snuggle bug. If you are sitting down, he would like to be right there with you. He has no issues with body handling and is happy to get all the attention you are willing to give him. He is trustworthy out of his crate, with one exception: open trash cans are apparently impossible to resist. Otherwise, he is a pretty easy guy. He loves walks, although he does pull a little, and he corrects easily because he really wants to please. He has excellent recall and seems to respect backyard fencing. Chester enjoys car rides, treats, food, and playing tug-of-war. He is also great at the vet and seems to believe humans can do no wrong. He knows sit, down, and wait, and would enjoy learning more commands. He has a medium energy level and is happy to play or go for a walk, but he is equally happy to hang out with his people. His two biggest quirks? He is a sloppy drinker, so a mat under his water bowl is probably a good idea, and he politely requests no cats. He cannot resist chasing them. Overall, Chester is a happy, social, affectionate young dog who really just wants to be part of the family. If you are looking for a dog who loves dogs, loves people, loves snuggling, and is always ready to be included, Chester might be your guy!

Hi, my name is Avi and I am a 2 year old male. My foster dad believes that I am a husky german shepherd mix. I am energetic and love to play, swim, tug, and run. I am also potty trained and crate trained. I love lots of affection, pets, and cuddling. I get along with other dogs but have never been around cats. I am a very sweet dog that is looking for his forever home.

Story
Griff is an almost 6 year old mix. He is very athletic, playful and sweet. He can be a total couch potato or okay fetch and be just as happy. I believe he would do great with another dog in the home, but at least a medium-large in size.
