She gets especially excited around people and other animals, which can sometimes lead to a little pulling on leash as she rushes over to make new friends.Winter is mostly housebroken and will usually ask to go outside, though if she's ignored or left alone for too long, she may leave a reminder by the door. Like many Huskies, she's also incredibly smart—and not always in ways that benefit her humans. Unlocked doors are merely suggestions, standard crates are no match for her escape skills, and if she gains access to the house while unsupervised, any reachable trash can may become a snack bar.When she's not plotting her next adventure, Winter enjoys car rides, cuddling with her people, carrying around her beloved giant teddy bear, and snuggling with her blanket. She knows sit, down, and shake, although whether she chooses to show off those skills depends entirely on her mood. And squirrels? He thrives on activity and interaction, whether that’s playtime, walks, or just being involved in whatever his people are up to. He’s especially wonderful with kids and brings a goofy, joyful energy wherever he goes.Lupine does have some separation anxiety, which means he’s not a fan of being left alone for long stretches. 🍀 Lucky’s Lucky Break 🍀Sometimes, the stars simply align. On a hot, sunny day, Lucky arrived at H.A.L.O. riding in the back of a pickup truck. We hadn’t planned on taking in another dog that day, but there there was a need, and somehow, everything fell into place. And so, Lucky found her way to us. Lucky is an approximately 3-year-old Husky who is housebroken, cuddly, and full of personality. She’s perfectly happy to wander over, rest her head in your lap, and soak up some affection. She does have a little Husky sass and can become unsure if she feels a boundary has been crossed, so she simply needs someone who will listen to her cues and let trust grow naturally.We think Lucky would be happiest with kids 12+ who can understand and respect her signals. She clearly has a sweet spot for little ones—she happily tolerated plenty of hugs from a young child during her surrender—but because she can become unsure when she feels a boundary has been crossed, older children who can give her a little space when she asks will be the best fit.She did well meeting a playful puppy during her temperament test and may do well with the right canine companion and a home that can put in the extra work to integrate everyone at their own pace. Cats seem to make her a little nervous, though she showed little interest in chasing a calm one, so we think a home with a cat who "speaks dog" could also be a good match. Lucky’s story may have brought her to our door unexpectedly, but we have a feeling the next chapter is going to be her best one yet. Meet Kiara! 🐾Some dogs have Labrador looks and Labrador personalities. Kiara got the Labrador looks... but we're pretty sure her personality came straight from the Husky factory! She's smart, goofy, energetic, and has a way of making every day a little more fun.Just over a year old, Kiara came to H.A.L.O. through no fault of her own after her owner's health issues and allergies made it impossible to keep her. She spent her early months as an indoor family dog, but as she got older she was mostly kept outdoors. Through all the changes, she has remained a happy, affectionate girl who loves everyone she meets.Kiara was briefly adopted, but unfortunately it was discovered that she is not cat friendly, so she's back with us looking for a cat-free forever home where she can thrive.Kiara is crate trained, housetrained, knows her name, and responds to basic commands. She loves running, playing with toys, learning new things, and will do anything for a tasty treat (especially boiled chicken!). She would do best with an active home that can keep her busy with exercise, training, and adventures. She gets along well with other dogs and would love a canine companion.Since coming into our care, Kiara has become increasingly protective of her toys and other high-value items. Because of this, we feel she would do best in an adult-only home with experienced adopters who understand resource guarding and are committed to managing her environment and continuing positive reinforcement training. Bronx we rescued when he was 2yrs old and now he is 8yrs old, I cannot take care of him due to I had a stroke. I have not been able to update his rabies since 2025 because of my illness. Very loveable, high energy when he is outside, knows commands, acts goofy at times loves other animals and kids. Loves to sit next to you, sleeps next to you on the floor,enjoys going for walks and is basically a big baby. He goes in the car willingly for rides and has never been in crate, loves fresh broccoli, cabbage any vegetable or fruit. I am looking for someone to love and care for Bronx like I did before my health went south.
