Kush is a 9 year old female Siberian Husky that has been at the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County (AWL) since 8/15/2021 (1,073 days / 2 years, 11 months). That is WAY to long! Let`s find Kush a furrever home before she hits her 3 year anniversary at the shelter! Kush LOVES going for walks, playing fetch, running zoomies in a fenced yard, and being showered with love/treats! Kush is dog selective. Kush is spayed and up to date on all of her shots. Oreo had been wandering around outside for about a week before we were able to catch her. We took her to the vet and she has no chip, we spoke with the humane society, and they said they were full, so I agreed to keep her and look for her owner. I have not had any luck. While we have had her... she is decent on a leash, loves to dig and chew on antlers and other hard toys. We guess she is about 1-2 years old; she is semi house trained. She will let you know she needs to go out but if you leave her she gets made sometimes and will pee right after you bring her in. She is very protective and shows hording behavior as well as cowers at fast movements. She does aggressively defend her food toys and sleeping area from other dogs so she is best suited on her own until these habits can be broken. I have an 8 year old and Oreo loves her to death we simply cannot keep her sur to the aggressiveness with the other doggos.

This is the first step of the adoption process.    Meet Blu. This gorgeous Malamute mix is looking for a new home. She will be 3 years old in October. She is a sweet, gentle girl that knows several basic commands and is solidly house trained. She is crate trained, but would likely be fine left out or in a baby gated area. She hasn't been destructive. She would ideally love a fenced yard, but is also good on leash. She tends to whine when in the car and would not be the best traveling dog. Blu has been around children of all ages and does well. She has never lived with cats.   Blu tends to snap at larger dogs when she first meets them. The reason for rehoming is due to not getting along with one of the larger dogs in the home. She seems to be very tolerant and ok with smaller dogs. Blu occasionally does take Trazadone when going to the groomers to both help with the car ride and the groom.   Blu is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped. She is about 5 years old, weighs 78 pounds, and is in urgent need of a forever home. Panda loves people and can not get enough attention. Panda has spent most of her life in an indoor / outdoor situation and has had a couple of litters of puppies. She was a good mama, but its her turn to be placed in a home to be someone's world. Panda has been with other dogs in the past and has done well, but it has only been her Malamute friends/family. We would not recommend a home with cats. We would also recommend a home with older children due to her inexperience. Ideally, she would love to be an only dog. Panda may need some patience and assistance in being fully potty trained since she has lately been in an outside enclosure. The family has had a great loss and due to significant changes, she is not getting the attention she needs and deserves. Panda is a quick learner and we have no doubt she will adapt to a new environment well.Panda is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped.
