Currently located at our Owensboro, KY location   Looking for a foster hero for Tarrence Tarrence came to us from a hoarding case and is so ready to learn what stability and love truly feel like. He’s a handsome Husky/Shepherd mix with the cutest powder-dusted face that gives him that distinguished, wise expression. His exact age may be unknown, but don’t let that frosted face fool you — this boy still has plenty of energy and life left to live! At 52 pounds, Tarrence is the perfect large size for adventures, long walks, and outdoor fun. He carries that classic Husky/Shepherd blend of intelligence, loyalty, and playful spirit. He would thrive in a foster home that can keep him active while also giving him a soft, safe place to land at the end of the day. After coming from a hoarding situation, what he needs most is patience, structure, and kindness. In return, you’ll get to watch him blossom into the incredible companion he’s meant to be. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a dog like Tarrence realize he’s finally safe. Tarrence is not quite ready for adoption yet — he will be available once he is neutered. Mike is a high energy dog. He is stubborn but will come to you when you call. He has a fondness of slaying chickens which is why he is up for adoption. A fenced in yard would be best. He will chew anything he can put in his mouth. Likes to run and is playful. He does not know he is a bigger dog and will bang into you. He is not mean. He is friendly with kids and family once introduced. He does alert when strangers come around. I will give to the folks adopting him 150.00 to help get this years shots which are due in May I believe.

Meet Skye. She is absolutely gorgeous, is about two years old, is spayed and weighs 55 pounds. She is a beautiful, very scared sweetheart. The effort to get to know her is worth everything because, while she takes time to get to know people, we have seen her start to trust and it is amazing to see. Before you read any further, if you're interested in adopting Skye, please email us at pets@michianapets.org. We want to set her up for success in meeting people and that's the best way to do so! Okay, now back to Skye information... In her previous home, she was wonderful at being house-trained as well as being crate-trained. She would love a quiet household as meeting new people is stressful for her. She has lived with kiddos about 10 and up, has lived with a larger male dog and we are still monitoring her around kitty friends. Skye is all in to sleep with you, on her dog bed or in her crate. Her manners are wonderful and the more she gets to know you, the more she welcomes calm affection and love. Taking treats gently, sitting, staying/coming, laying down and going to her crate are a few good-girl behaviors she knows. Skye will most likely need multiple visits from interested adopters, but as we have already stated...she is SO worth it. We hope to see your email come through soon!
