Memphis was picked up by animal control and not claimed. We can't figure out why as he is super friendly, smart and listens well. He loves toys, taking walks and running laps around the play yard. He likes treats but takes them only after getting some pets from the volunteers. He seems genuinely happy to meet people and solicits attention from visitors. He recently went to Tractor Supply and did amazing! He sat politely and let people pet him. He got right into the vehicle and loved to hang his head out the window. He did move about the vehicle so we recommend a doggie seatbelt when traveling. Memphis has shown some resource guarding behaviors towards other dogs when it comes to food so we recommend that he eats in a separate room at dinner time. He has also bristled up and lunged at other male dogs so we will require a meet-n-greet with any resident dogs to see if they are a match. Cats are also a no-no as he gets fixated on them and we believe he would chase them if they ran. It's possible that he's just curious but we aren't willing to risk it. Memphis is very clean in his kennel indicating that he could be potty trained. As with any dog, he will need time to learn his new person's schedule but we believe he will quickly adjust. Dogs like Memphis have a ton of hair and will need daily brushing and twice a year deshedding to keep his fur from matting. We are guessing him at 3.5 years old. If you're looking for an active, friendly, smart dog... Memphis is your guy!

Meet Wyatt Earpp!Wyatt is a German Shepherd/Husky/Lab mix that is full grown at around 56 pounds and was born 12/4/2022. Wyatt Earp and his bonded buddy Doc Holiday are ready to find a family of their own.Doc has learned to make fast friends, while Wyatt still looks to Doc for guidance and confidence when meeting new people. Due to this, they may need multiple meets in order for them to feel comfortable. Once you have earned their trust, you will become their new best friends. Since they did not grow up around children they would proper introductions with any resident family members including children. As for children, older kids might be easier for them to trust, as younger children can be scary when they are loud or make fast movements. Once they are comfortable though, they may jump to greet and could potentially knock someone over if they become too excited.They have learned lots of new tricks that that they use every day such as basic commands like `sit`, `down`, and `off`, they know when it is time to go potty and play outside, and how to walk on leash. Journey is a sassy, smart and spirited Husky mix who’s still learning to trust the world around him. He’s got that classic Husky attitude - vocal, opinionated and mouthy - but underneath it all, he’s a sweet guy who just needs the right person to help him feel safe and loved, but one that can also help teach him right from wrong.Journey came to us from a hoarding situation, so he`s still figuring out how to interact with people and other animals. Because of this, he would love a home where he can be the main focus, so a home without other pets and children would be best. Slow introductions to all household members would be needed before going to his new home and he would even benefit greatly with professional training after adoption.Because Journey is very vocal, a home without shared walls would be the best fit for him. He would still need to learn trust when being leashed, so he would also do best in a home with a fenced in yard. He is incredibly smart and treat-motivated, so treats are a fast way to his heart. After he trusts you, proper training won`t be too difficult. We aren`t quite sure if he is house trained, but he does keep his kennel clean!
