Story
At just 2½ years old, Chief has already been through more than most dogs ever should. Through no fault of his own, he`s found himself back at the shelter eight different times, bouncing from home to home without ever getting the consistency every dog needs.Chief isn`t a bad dog—he`s a dog who`s never been given the chance to truly settle in. After so much change, he`s lost any sense of routine, and what he needs most is structure, stability, and someone willing to stick with him.Like many Huskies, Chief is very high energy and thrives when he has plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. He`ll need a secure, escape-proof fenced yard, as he`s known to look for adventures if given the opportunity. He`s not the type of dog who will be content lounging around all day—he wants to be part of an active lifestyle.Chief is at an important crossroads in his life. With an experienced owner who understands working breeds, sets clear boundaries, and has the patience to help him succeed, he has every opportunity to become an incredible lifelong companion. He just needs someone who sees his potential and is committed to helping him reach it.If you`re looking for a project with a huge payoff and have the time, experience, and dedication to give Chief the stable home he`s never truly had, come meet him. He doesn`t need another temporary stop—he needs someone who will finally show him what `forever` means.

Good with kids, Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
House trained, can leave for long hours and won't have accidents or destroy the house. She is used to being around older kids, so a home with teens should be fine. Babies, toddlers and active younger kids make her nervous. She tolerated a cat a few years ago, but not sure if she will now that she is older. She has to be the only dog, preferably the only animal. She loves salty snacks: saltines, tortilla chips, etc. and she loves sweets. She can be outside and you open up something with sugar and she can smell it! And will let you know she is ready to come inside and share it with ya, LOL! She would love nothing more than to lay on the couch with ya and watch tv, but she also would love you playing with her rope too. Our circumstances have changed and we are now gone from the house 4 to 5 days a week, and just don't have the time to give her the love and attention she deserves.

Good with dogs, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Meet a girl who has come so far in rescue and is so ready for her chance. She’s potty trained, leash trained, crate trained, and wonderfully smart — the kind of dog who learns quickly and genuinely wants to do the right thing. She gets along well with other dogs, though she can be a little bossy, which is just part of her confident, sassy personality. Once she decides you’re her person, she’ll love you with her whole heart and happily snuggle up beside you. She also has some quirks that make her unique. She’s not a dog who wants someone putting their face right up to hers until she’s comfortable — she needs to warm up at her own pace. She tends to bond faster with women and does best when new people don’t give her too much attention right away. With patience and a calm introduction, she opens up beautifully. She’s also a jumper, but she’s currently in training and improving. Beyond that, she has some truly special traits: she loves the water, she’ll protect you from strangers, and once she trusts you, she becomes a loyal, affectionate companion who wants to be right by your side. She has been in rescue for a full year this July, waiting for the right family to see her for who she is — a dog with a big heart, a few boundaries, and so much love to give. She needs a family that understands her personality, respects her pace, and believes in giving her the chance she deserves. To help her find that perfect match, her adoption fee is waived for a local adopter (Within a couple hours of Hilham, TN) who is the RIGHT fit. For adopters outside the area, there will be a low adoption fee based on travel needs. She’s not a “meet her once and she’s instantly perfect” kind of dog — she’s a “give her a little time and she’ll give you everything” kind of dog. And she’s so ready for her happy home. Avalanche aka Ava, is a Great Pyrenees/Husky mix, around 1 yr old, spayed and vaccinated. She needs a home where she can have the time she needs to adjust. She would do best with no cats or small children
