Hello, my name is Koda. I am a very sweet, shy, and sensitive young man. I can be extremely nervous when meeting new people and might require multiple visits until I am fully comfortable with you. But once I open up, I am a ball of energy who will love you forever! I love going outside on my walks and romping around the pen chasing tennis balls! I am not the type to just hangout all day and will need someone to keep me active so I don't get bored and make my own fun. Once I am comfortable with you I am a big goofball who soaks up all the pets and cuddles. I have had some play dates while here at the shelter and seem to really love other dogs. Having another confident dog in the home to show me the world isn't so scary would be great for me! I also could potentially live with a dog-savvy cat. I am still working on house training and will need continued work with this in my new home. Since I am so shy an adult only home would be best for me. *Due to state laws regarding out of state adoptions, we cannot adopt to families in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.* Myra is a beautiful approximately 10 month old husky mix who loves to be adored and try to fit into small boxes like a cat.  Listed breed is an educated guess made by our veterinarian and is NOT a guarantee - this also means we have no way of knowing what a puppy's adult size will be. This dog is currently being fostered in Mississippi and will be transported via Barton's Barkers transport services upon adoption. Their adoption fee is $500 and includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, a nose to tail vet check, microchip and transport costs. Second Chances lists dogs as being available in White River Junction, VT because we transport our dogs to the area every 3rd week after they have been adopted. All of our local shelters have a high euthanasia rate due to overpopulation so we created our rescue group to primarily adopt to the northern states to help keep as many dogs as we can from entering our kill shelters.   ##1736865##

Welcome Bailey Blue to CCPAL Foster Program. She is a 4-year-old and appears to be a pure bred Siberian Husky. She is a little bit chunky at 75 pounds. She is a beautiful Red and White husky with light blue eyes. She is good with dogs her size and smaller dogs. She was very tolerant of a little dominant boy dog that fell in love with her at the Rescue. She has lived in a home with children successfully. She is also around cats but all time with them is supervised. She is potty trained, good on a leash and good in a car. She does not jump up on you which is nice. She has a beautiful coat that will need regular brushing to stay looking beautiful. We would love a previous husky owner for her new family. She would love to live in the cooler more northern climates as she has a beautiful full coat to fully enjoy this type of weather. She would be fine with children and we like them to be 8 or older. Husky dogs need a good fenced yard. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont, Conneticut or all along the East Coast. Welcome Asher to CCPAL Foster Program. He is a 7-year-old and appears to be a pure-bred Siberian Husky. He weighs about 65 pounds and looks like an ideal weight. He was trained to be with a deaf person and he knows some hand signals for commands. He is a beautiful Black and white husky with light blue eyes. He is good with dogs his size and smaller dogs. He very tolerant of a little dominant dog in his foster home. He has lived in a home with children successfully. He is also around cats but all time with them is supervised. He is protective of food and doesn’t like his food bowl messed with while he is eating. He is potty trained, good on a leash and good in a car. He does not jump up on you which is nice. Meet Jax, a really great all around dog! His blue eyes reveal his husky heritage and his playfulness and affection will win your heart. Jax was an owner surrender through no fault of his own, they just had to move to an apartment complex that did not allow big dogs. We thought that he was a senior dog when we first looked at his teeth, but his molars are in good shape, so he's around 5-6. However, he has some broken and missing teeth in the front. We don't know what happed to them. His foster says "Jax is a low maintenance guy that loves two things above all else, his daily walks and playing with toys. He gets along with all the dogs and cats in our home and even puts up with the foster puppies. He can entertain himself, throwing a toy in the air by himself over and over and then catching it. He practically prances when trotting on his leash." Jax is great on a leash, loves spending time in a fenced in back yard and is very friendly even to people he does not know.

This gorgeous girl is so lucky to be alive! We were driving down a busy four lane highway when we spotted her run across the highway barely missing getting run down by a large box truck. She ran into the parking lot of a Dollar General so we immediately pulled into the parking lot and luckily she ran up to our van and jumped right in! We tried and tried to find her owner but to no avail. It's hard to see in the pics but she has one blue eye and one golden eye. We suspect she had a little Husky in her but we did a DNA anyway, lots and lots of breeds in her DNA, including 5% Chihuahua! She's a super mutt! Clarice is spayed, fully vaccinated, crate trained and microchipped. She is available for immediate transport PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $600
