Welcome Leia to CCPAL Rescue Foster program. Leia is a 5 month old pup that is Husky/Staffordshire Terrier. A picture of the mom and dad are available. Both are very friendly and social dogs. The pups would be good with children. Lia is the most shy of the 4 pack. All these pups are smart and willing to learn and work well when you train with them. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. The unspayed female was around the male and in just minutes she was pregnant with 10 puppies. These 5 are still available for adoption. All have had 3 rounds of puppy shots, microchipped and will be altered before adoption. Their mom is 65 pounds so we think these pups will be 65 pounds. They know sit, wait and are the ultimate water dogs. They like to play and swim in the foster’s swimming pool. They would all make great camping companions. They love other dogs and all people including kiddos. They have the bushy coat like the Husky and several of them have ice-blue eyes. Lia is the smallest female. She is a little shy but sweet and one of the more vocal. She would warn you if someone was at the door or at the fence. She is a nice girl and since he is the smallest girl we think he will for sure be 55 pounds. She is mostly potty trained but will need more consistency than the foster can provide with 4 puppies. They are good in a crate and in a car. They are currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get any of this litter (2 girls and 2 boys) to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200. Meet Venice, a 7-yr-old boy who was plucked from the streets of South LA and spent 10 months at an animal shelter, where he was put on the euthanasia list due to overcrowding. He is now in need of a loving home! Venice is initially shy, but warms up to both people and pooches & is very sweet and loyal. He's very intelligent, motivated by both food and praise. He’s energetic and playful, but is also thrilled to snuggle up with you on the couch. He often communicates via "ooh" sounds. Venice has special needs that require ongoing maintenance: - He has eosinophilic bronchopneumopathy, which is managed via prednisone & inhaler treatments. - He struggles to keep on weight and has a sensitive tummy, needing 1800 calories/day & appropriate food. - He hasn’t taken to housetraining; belly bands have worked well for him, but may need to continue for the rest of his life. - He has retained a behavioral tic of spinning whenever stressed or understimulated; fluoxetine helps with his anxiety

Meet Kippa! A spirited five-year-old Siberian Husky/Shepherd mix currently living in Wilton, CT, whose heart is as big as her love for snuggles. Wrapped in a gorgeous grey-and-white coat, this medium-sized adventurer is an affectionate, intelligent, and playful companion who thrives when surrounded by her favorite people. Kippa is happiest when she’s part of the action—whether it’s exploring the great outdoors, going for long walks, or even taking a refreshing swim in the pool with the kids. She’s always up for a cuddle session, making her the perfect constant companion for anyone looking for a loving, people-oriented pup! She knows a few important commands like “sit,” “leave it,” and “okay,” but she would benefit from continued training to build her confidence and skills. Kippa adores people and is friendly with strangers, but she can be selective with other dogs. In her current home, she has had altercations with another resident dog and once with a neighbor’s dog while in her space, which may stem from resource guarding or feeling the need to assert control in her environment. Baxter was brought home in June 2019 as a puppy. He has been a loving companion for me every day since then. He is very kind and very energetic. Baxter enjoys going for walks, running around the yard, playing with other dogs and acting like he’s a lap dog. Unfortunately we are forced to move and I feel he deserves more space and freedom than I can provide within our new living arrangement.
