Story
His new name is Pumba, he just came to us two months ago from a shelter because he was depressed with his recent owners separated. He stopped eating for them and was sad, so that owner placed him in the shelter. I instantly fell in love with him and his story. He is the most laid back, well behaved dog out of my bunch (I have three poodle mixes). My husband and I are expecting our fourth child and I actually am quite overwhelmed right now. Pumba goes for walks with a dog walker twice a week and the dog walker says he is amazing, well behaved and calm. He was definitely walked before and does not bolt away. Our children are all under the age of 7 and he is extremely gently with them, lovely and kind. I truly can’t stress how well behaved he is (can you tell by the pictures) always relaxing. I am happy to have added to him returning his happiness he is now eating alllllll the food in the house, going for walks, running around in our large yard and playing with my kids.

Story
Pia is a 4 year old husky mix. She loves walks, loves to play fetch. Good with babies, kids and cat (lives with a one year old baby and one adult cat now). We got her from a litter of puppies in early 2019 from a friend whose husky had puppies. She is house trained, no health issues, and is up to date on all shots. Very well taken care of but with a small child and another one on the way and busy work schedules we are unable to give her the attention she needs and deserves. She is very loyal and sweet. Would be great in a home with young kids or adults who are willing to give her attention and love.

Story
Milo has got to be one of the handsomest pups around! This gorgeous 1.5-2 year old male Husky is the best. He has the beautiful look of a Husky and is very talkative like a Husky, but he has more of a Shepard personality. He is very affectionate, loyal and intelligent. He loves to follow his foster Mom everywhere and have long conversations regarding his displeasures and pleasures in life. He talks to his humans and truly expects them to understand him. He is NOT a barker. In his foster home, he only barks when someone approaches the house or yard. He loves to take walks and would be a great hiking partner. He loves other non-dominant dogs, both male and female. He does play very rough, so his canine buddies need to be up for a little rough housing. He plays hard, then heads right for a nap. His exercise demand is lower than the average Husky, more in the moderate range. He currently weighs approximately 67 pounds. His original home reportedly had cats, but he would need an intro with a home with cats, as he appears to play hard with all animals, and a cat might not be interested in aggressive playtime. He is good with kids, but due to his mouthy nature, we would recommend him with older dog savvy kids. He would likely be too much puppy for a house with toddlers. He truly is still a big goofy puppy. He will benefit from some basic obedience training. He was treated for heart worms and is now ready to find his forever family. Adoption fee details: Puppies - Adults $ 610, Seniors $435. These adoption rates include transport from Alexandria, Louisiana to designated New England adopter pick up locations and NE foster homes using either Rescue Road Trips, Pets LLC or CAFA Transport. If you do a search you will see that this is a very reasonable adoption fee and comparable to other rescues. Adoption fee breakdown:Adoption Fee: $ 385.00 Transportation Fee: $ 225.00 MA and NH only--Quarantine fee if applicable: $130.00 Medical details: All our dogs are altered (spayed or neutered), DHLPP, rabies, Bordetella, Heartworm tested with negative test results, microchipped, treated for parasites and on monthly heartworm and flea and tick prevention. A health certificate is issued by a licensed Louisiana veterinarian. Adoption details: In some instances, a meet and greet is not possible before adoption unless we have a foster home in New England available. Available for a Meeting confirms the dog is in a NE Foster home and available for a meeting in the city state provided. Most times our dogs get adopted before a foster home becomes available - and if so, they go straight to adopters home. Foster parents talk to adopters and feel confident that this will be a match before our dogs are transported up. Also if by some chance it is not a match we have a safety net in place as we ask that adopters to let us know that it is not a match and we direct you to take the dog to a foster home or boarding kennel once that is arranged. If necessary, we will ask you to foster the dog until a foster home can be arranged. Transport details:Rescue Road Trips (rescueroadtrips.com), Pets LLC (petsllc.net) or CAFA Transport will deliver our precious pups on commercial rescue animal transport to designated locations. The fee is 225.00 which IS INCLUDED in your adoption fee already.**Rescue Road Trips, was featured on The Today Show - view it at http://www.today.com/video/today/55034556#55034556 MA and NH RESIDENTS: If you are a Massachusetts or New Hampshire residence, an additional fee of $130.00 will apply due to State quarantine fee requirements. If the dog is in a foster home in MA or NH, this fee will be added in the adoption fee regardless of where the adopters home is located making the total adoption fee $740.00 for puppies and adults $565.00 for Seniors, otherwise the full adoption fee for all other states is $610.00 for puppies and adults and $435.00 for seniors. This includes a 48 quarantine, recheck by a MA licensed veterinarian, and issued a MA health certificate. Visit all our available dogs at www.cenlaallianceforanimals.com. Story
Gentle 7 year old husky mix who is patiently waiting for you at the Taunton Animal Shelter. My person who adopted me as a puppy, and I spent all our time together. I loved to ride in his truck, with my head out the window, ears flying in the wind. We were a team! He developed cancer and tried to take care of me as long as he could. When it became too difficult, he brought me to the shelter. Soon after, I was adopted. I had a person again and my own yard. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. When he could no longer care for me, I was brought back to the shelter, once again! Sad, that is how I feel! My eyes tell my story. Are you looking for a loyal companion? I am. Other dogs, I am not good with. A home without cats or young children would be best for me. Sitting outside, enjoying summer days with a human buddy, is what I hope for each passing day. For information about the adoption process/and or about me, please call Rob at the shelter 508-822-1463
