Meet Frost: Your New Sun-Seeking, Belly-Rub-Loving Bestie! ☀️🐾 Don't let the chilly name fool you—this gorgeous girl is all warmth, affection, and ready to be your ultimate bestie. ❤️ People-Obsessed: Frost absolutely loves people. Her favorite pastime is simply spending quality time with her humans. ✋ Belly Rub Connoisseur: If you have an open hand, Frost has an exposed belly. She will happily roll over the second you start petting her! 👶 Kid-Approved: She has successfully lived with children before and done wonderfully with them. ☀️ Backyard Buddy: She loves to run around and play, but she is just as happy soaking up the sun and relaxing outside by your side once she has played. 🐕 Cool with Other Pups: Frost typically ignores other dogs and minds her own business, but she does well with them! We recommend having her meet your dog here to ensure they will both be happy in the home! If you are looking for some Frost to cool down your hot summer, come down and meet her today! Ready to Adopt? Story
Meet Loki!Loki would like to clear up a few rumors. Yes, he has argued with his leash by biting and tugging on it. Yes, he has strong opinions about where walks should go. And yes, he has enough energy to power a small town. This handsome husky mix came to the shelter when his adopters (from another rescue) realized that Loki was a too high-octane dog and was much more exuberant than they were prepared for. No hard feelings, though. Loki is simply looking for people who speak fluent `busy dog.`Loki is very smart, athletic, and always ready for the next activity. He loves puzzle toys, enrichment games, training challenges, and anything that gives his busy brain something to do. A run, a hike, a game of fetch, or a new adventure? Sign him up. When bored, he can get up to mischief, like his namesake.Loki is looking for an experienced home with active people who understand energetic ,smart working-type dogs. He would do best without young children, though older teens with dog experience may be a fit. He may also be able to live with another dog after a successful meet.If your idea of fun involves muddy shoes, tired legs, and a happy dog at the end of the day, Loki is ready to be your adventure partner. Please come to the shelter on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 12-4pm during our walk-in hours if you are interested in adopting Loki.

Story
Heidi is an active, affectionate, friendly, and cuddly Pomsky. She came into our care after being found as a stray in Boston. Her owners never came looking for her, so she is looking for a new home. She seems to enjoy the company of other dogs and loves going for long walks. Since we don't have a history of how she is with children, we will not place her in a home with children under 12 years old. Heidi is estimated to be two years old. She is much smaller than she looks in these pictures. Heidi will be spayed on June 11th, but is available to meet adopters now. If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out our dog adoption application here: http://medfieldshelter.com/adopt. Our adoption fee for dogs ages 7 months to 7 years is $450. Dogs 8 years and up are $250. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash. With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both. All adoption meetings are by appointment only as we only have two employees. Our manager or one of our volunteers will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come meet the pets, but please fill out the adoption application first.

Story
I rescued Rei when she was 9 months old, she's 6 and has been with me ever since. She is a Siberian Husky, and while she is always up for a walk and play, she is perfectly fine with being a bum and laying on the couch with you all day. She is house trained and is trained to run to a spot to "go potty" when I open the slider. This took significant effort on my part, and would likely require effort to replicate in a new location. She is affectionate, a flirt and loves attention. She is stubborn but highly food motivated. She gets along with other dogs and has lived with a cat- never biting or violent, but would chase him a bit when bored! She has never been around children. The reason for rehoming is my wife developed a severe allergy when she became pregnant. We tried keeping her only on the first floor, an air filter on each floor and vigorous vacuuming/grooming but it sadly didnt make much of a difference. She is a goofy, wonderful girl who makes me laugh everyday.

Story
Meet Stella! A spirited one-and-a-half-year-old Siberian Husky mix currently Trenton, NJ, whose essence is a vibrant blend of intelligence, loyalty, and quiet confidence wrapped in a lightly golden coat with beautiful white accents. Guided by months of dedicated training and thoughtful care, this medium-sized girl is growing into an impressive companion who thrives when surrounded by people who understand and respect her unique personality. Weighing about 55 pounds, Stella enjoys the simple joys of life: long walks, adventurous hikes, energetic games of tug-of-war, relaxing car rides, and settling into her favorite crate or quiet space after a fulfilling day. She is house-trained, crate-trained, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. She also knows an impressive list of commands, including sit, down, stay, heel, place, and yes-marker cues that help with recall and redirection. Stella’s caregivers invested more than six months in proactive training with Greenleaf Pet Resort, helping her reach an impressive neutrality rate around other dogs. As part of her rehoming program, Stella comes with fully paid lifetime professional training support through Greenleaf Pet Resort, giving her future family ongoing access to expert guidance and training resources for the rest of her life. She is remarkably quiet, having barked only twice in seven months, and prefers communicating through gentle body language and the occasional whimper when she feels overwhelmed. Like many intelligent dogs who thrive with structure, Stella needs an experienced adult-only family who understands positive reinforcement and advocacy. She is not compatible with cats or other dogs and requires a fenced yard. Stella has a history of biting when unfamiliar people attempt to touch her without her consent or before trust has been established, making it especially important that her family carefully manage introductions and advocate for her personal space. She can become uncomfortable when unfamiliar people attempt to pet her, so she needs patient adopters who will allow her to initiate contact, carefully read her body language, and respect her boundaries. When trust develops, Stella shows her affection by nudging a hand for attention and sharing quiet moments with the people she loves. Her digestive concerns are now being successfully managed through a carefully balanced veterinary diet, and she comes with complete medical and behavioral records, as well as pet insurance. Long-distance adoption is welcomed for the right match! Stella is ready for a new loving home with people who will champion her needs and celebrate her progress every step of the way.
