Story
Meet Winnie! 70 lbs | 2-year-old Husky/German Shepherd Mix If you're looking for a big-hearted girl with a whole lot of love to give, Winnie might just be your girl! Winnie is as sweet as they come. She is incredibly friendly, loves people, and absolutely enjoys getting attention. Once she knows you're her friend, she's happy to soak up all the love you have to offer. Winnie does well around other dogs, although she has a bit of a herding instinct and likes to keep everyone organized. Because of this, we think she'd be happiest with a calmer canine companion or a confident dog who doesn't mind Winnie taking on the role of supervisor! Dog friendly: Yes, but a meet & greet is required if you have another dog. Cats: Unknown. We think she may do okay with a cat with slow, proper introductions and supervision. Winnie is a wonderful combination of sweet, friendly, affectionate, and just a little bit bossy. She's ready to find a family who will appreciate her big personality and give her the love and guidance she deserves. Could Winnie be your new best friend? Come meet this sweet girl! If interested, please call the shelter at 231-861-5395 and leave a message to be placed on this dog's adoption list. No obligation, but it reserves your place in line on the list. The shelter will contact individuals as they appear on the list. The adoption fee is $95 and you receive certificates for $50 towards spay/neuter and $10 towards rabies vaccine if not already done. All dogs are heartworm tested, receive a DHLPP, flea and tick treatment, and are dewormed.

Story
We are looking for a loving new home for our wonderful 3-year-old Husky/German Shepherd mix. We adopted her when she was just 10 weeks old, and she has been a beloved part of our family ever since. She is fully vaccinated, spayed, house-trained, very friendly, and gets along well with other dogs. She is very energetic and loves being outdoors, playing fetch, and chasing rabbits and deer. She has excellent recall, is a fast learner, and would thrive with an active family that has time to play and spend time with her. Recently, with our kids' school activities and frequent travel, we realized that we no longer have enough time to give her the attention and exercise she deserves. This is an incredibly difficult decision, but we truly believe she would be happiest with a family that has more time to enjoy the outdoors and play with her.

Story
Meet Zeus he is a 6 yr old Siberian husky pure bred. I’ve had him for all 6 years but unfortunately he does not do well with kids and I have 2 under 1. Zeus is an acquired taste as he is constantly on high alert and is really weary with new people.

Story
Meet Otto, born 11/20/24. Both his parents are my sleddogs; Otto never read that memo. He'd rather be on the couch or standing in the shallows of a lake. He came back to me when he began having seizures his family couldn't take on financially. He's been under vet care since and is stable - one seizure in two months (60 sec, 7/31/26). He takes low-dose Keppra every 12 hours with peanut butter, ~$8/month, and his vet will reassess after a year seizure-free. Happy to explain what a seizure looks like and what to do. He's house-trained, quiet, and knows basic commands plus canicross cues. Great with kids and dogs, likes cats more than they like him, but can't be trusted around birds or chickens - he needs a leash or fenced yard. He's crate-shy after a bad experience during a seizure. Best home: someone around for a 12-hour med schedule, ideally with another medium-large dog or kids. Water access is optional - he'd disagree. I always stay available for questions or training.
