Story
Hello, I'm Thor! I am a 2-year-old male husky. I am current on my vaccines, heartworm tested, mircrochipped, and neutered. 3 words that describe me: Goofy, Smart, Handsome Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: I'm nervous meeting new people, although I seem to prefer women and warm up to them faster. I'm not really food or toy motivated, but I LOVE being with other dogs! I came from the same home as Ryker who has helped me come out of my shell a little bit. My friends at CRHS think I'd do even better in foster, especially with another dog friend to show me the ropes! Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 8/10 Housetraining Status: I am very good at keeping my kennel clean, although it may take me some time to adjust to a new potty routine. I should do well in a home: Due to my reliance on other dogs for comfort, I am required to go into a home with another dog. Any children in my potential home will need to be 10 years or older due to my shy nature. I did great with cats in my foster home, given proper introductions. My favorite activities are: Running around outside with Ryker, lounging in a comfy spot, and cuddling up with my favorite people. Things I need work on are: Building confidence and basic commands. Any special needs: N/A Foster Notes: "Thor is the most loving and unique dog I've ever had the pleasure of fostering. He does take time to warm up, but just needs someone willing to give him patience and grace knowing that they will be rewarded with a dog who truly sees you as his best friend. Seeing Thor blossom into such a silly and outgoing boy is an experience that I can't wait for his new family to have. I highly reccommend giving this guy a chance if you need some excitement in your life, or just want to know what unconditional love feels like." Doggy day out notes: "Thor did amazing on his DD outing! He is coming more out of his shell being out with me. Moving slow with him and low activity places are what Thor likes. He is a bit shy but warmed up to me fairly quick. Thor is so much fun to hang out with💙 I have no doubt he will do amazing in a home" "Thor did amazing on his DD outing! He is very curious and loves to sniff on walks and just being out. I've taken him on a few outings and he has really gained confidence and trusting me as his human and the outside world. Super great pup who I love hanging out with💙 He will do great in a home environment!" Daycare Status: N/A My adoption fee is: $300 Training Requirement if applicable: N/A *If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Story
Hi, I'm Jaycee! I'm a 2-year-old female husky/shepherd mix. I am current on my vaccines, heartworm tested, spayed, and microchipped. 3 words that describe me: Shy, Curious, Friendly Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: My friends at CRHS believe I possibly could have been used as a breeding dog previously. I am very shy with new people, so I will need a home that's willing to take things at my pace. Once I get comfortable with you I am incredibly sweet. I would do best in a calm environment. Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 5 or 6/10 Housetraining Status: I am working on it, but a consistent schedule and lots of praise will help me learn even faster! I should do well in a home: Due to my shy nature any children in my potential home will need to be 8 years or older. I should do fine with other dogs given proper introductions and time to adjust. My friends at CRHS are unsure how I would do with cats. My favorite activities are: Sitting with a human in a calm environment and eating tasty snacks! Things I need work on are: Confidence building, housetraining, basic commands Any special needs: N/A Doggy day out notes: N/A Daycare Status: N/A My adoption fee is: $300 Training Requirement if applicable: N/A *If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Story
Hi! It's nice to meet you. I am Odin, I am a 3 year old husky mix who is waiting patiently to find my forever home. I am current on my vaccines, heartworm tested, neutered, and microchipped. 3 words that describe me: Affectionate, goofy, curious Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: My friends at the shelter say I am such a loving guy who despite my rough past has been nothing but a love bug with everyone I meet! Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 6/10 Housetraining Status: I am really good at keeping my kennel clean here at the shelter but when I go home I may take a little bit to adjust to a new schedule and routine! I should do well in a home: I should do well in a home with children of all ages. I also should do well in a home with other dogs but I tend to do best with female dogs and may be happier in a home without other male dogs. I would be willing to live with other males but I would be required to meet them here at the shelter before going home! I would also do good living in a home with dog-savvy cats! My favorite activities are: I love to be with my humans, soaking up all of the love. I love giving hugs to my people! I also enjoy playing with my squeaky toys. Things I need work on are: I know how to sit but I would love to learn more! Any special needs: N/A Doggy day out notes: "Odin did great! He is a very stoic pup and he loves observing his surroundings. Car rides were most definitely his highlight. Pup cups are the key to his heart, he is really just the sweetest boy!" "Odin was very well-behaved, had a laid-back, calm disposition, and was really good in the truck and on the trail. Not a puller when on leash; listened well; encountered one other large dog and responded well with no aggression. Odin is just the right size, not to big and not too small, easy to manage and control. He will make some lucky person a great best friend." "He was such a sweetheart, and very social but calm. He loves food and seems to be driven by it. One of the best dogs we have taken out for a Doggy Day Out." ***This dog is being housed at the Rochester Animal Control facility. In order to meet him, you need to fill out an adoption application first. These can be found on the homepage of the Paws and Claws Humane Society Website. Once you submit your application, a staff member will reach out with next steps.***Meet Thane... pronounced `Taw-nee`.This older girl found her way to the Rochester Animal Control when her owner sadly passed away and she had no where else to go. Thane is a 9 and a half year old husky and weighs about 66 pounds. Her ideal home would be one where her people are home often or when they do leave, take her with them. She gets nervous and stressed when she is alone for long periods as she just misses her people!Thane is on the older side and has some mild discomfort in her hips and back. A single level home or a home with limited stairs would be the best for her. Even though she is considered a senior, she still has plenty of spunk and energy left in her! She would love to be able to go on walks with her family or explore a backyard. **Adult only home**If you think your home is well suited for Thane, apply online today!Adoption fee is $150 + $30 microchip fee + tax

Story
Meet Elsa ❄️ – A Gentle Soul Ready for Her Forever Home Elsa is a beautiful 3-year-old husky mix with soft, soulful eyes and a heart full of love. She may be a bit shy at first, but once she feels safe, her sweet and playful personality shines through. Elsa thrives in a calm and patient home. She loves gentle affection, soft voices, and relaxing walks. She’s crate-trained, making great progress on leash walking and basic commands like sit. Potty training is still a work in progress, so she’ll benefit from a predictable routine and continued support. She would do best in a home with adults or older children who understand her need for a slow, gentle introduction to new things. A calm, confident dog friend could help her continue building trust and confidence. If you believe in love built on trust and patience, Elsa might be the perfect match. With a little time and a lot of love, this shy girl will melt into your heart—and stay there forever. 💙 Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org Adoption fee is $350 plus tax.

Story
Maya is a senior Husky Golden Retriever mix with the kindest heart and the sweetest soul. She is truly one of those dogs that everyone falls in love with the moment they meet her. Maya is gentle, patient, and incredibly kind with everyone she encounters. She has a little bit of that classic Husky confidence, what some might lovingly call a superiority complex, but it only adds to her charm. Maya gets along with everyone and welcomes attention from anyone she meets. She is a snuggler who loves hugs, but she is also very good at communicating when she wants her own space. She is independent, calm, and not clingy or demanding. Maya is blind, and at 12 years old she does need some assistance at times. That said, she adapts beautifully. She quickly memorizes her surroundings, learns the layout of a room, and confidently does her own thing much of the time. She would do best in a home willing to offer a little extra patience and guidance, and in return she gives endless love and trust. She loves walks and absolutely adores the snow. Cold weather makes her light up, and she enjoys exploring the world at her own pace. Maya is friendly with everyone she meets and has a calm, steady presence that makes her a wonderful companion. Maya is looking for a loving home where she can enjoy her golden years feeling safe, cherished, and understood. Adoption fee is $350+tax, please apply at www.campcompanion.org
