Story
Hi, I'm Jaycee! I'm a 2-year-old female husky/shepherd mix. I am current on my vaccines, heartworm tested, spayed, and microchipped. 3 words that describe me: Shy, Curious, Loyal Things my foster has to say about me: Jaycee is such a wonderful and perfect girl! She is such an easy girl to foster, all she wants to do is to hang out with us and our dogs. She loves to lay in the yard and soak up the sunshine, take naps on the couch and every now and then- she'll get happy prances when she plays with her toys. Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 5/10 Housetraining Status: I have been very good with potty training in my foster home. I should do well in a home: I should be fine with children of all ages given proper supervision. I really like other dogs, so much so that I am required to go home with another friendly dog. We're unsure how I'd do with cats but, I'm so laid back with proper introductions I may do just fine. My favorite activities are: My favorite thing in the world is being with my canine and human friends. Things I need work on are: Confidence building and basic commands Words from her foster: "Jaycee is the perfect girl, she likes to nap in the bed, sit in the sunshine and hang out with our dogs. As long as she has someone to keep her company, she's a happy girl!" Doggy day out notes: " Jaycee did amazing on her DD outing! We had a very calm, quiet and enjoyable walks together. This gal loves pup cups, car rides and walks! Jaycee is such a perfect gal having out and my favorite at the shelter💜" "Jaycee did amazing on her DD outing! It's always a relaxing, low key outing with her. Jaycee exudes calm, quiet energy and she excels at leash walking where she will calmly be at your side or behind you. She is such an easy pup to have on outings and very perfect as well. She will do amazing in a home environment 🩷" Daycare Status: N/A My adoption fee is: $150 Training Requirement if applicable: N/A *If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Story
Meet Balto! Balto's story could have ended very differently. Instead, it became a story of resilience, hope, and a dog who never stopped believing in people. Balto recently celebrated his second birthday and is proof that your past does not define your future. Despite spending part of his life surviving on the streets of Mexico and later finding himself in a shelter facing an uncertain fate, Balto has remained one of the sweetest, most loving dogs you could ever hope to meet. His foster says it best: "Some might think that a pup who lived on his own for so long might be aggressive or unable to bond with people. Not our boy Balto! Balto has defied the odds. He is the sweetest boy who loves dogs, cats, and people. He is not food aggressive and will gently take treats. He is playful with people and other dogs. Sometimes we have to tell him we are tired of playing. He loves to snuggle and is such a ham! He enjoys being brushed and soaking up the sun. When he is tired at night, he puts himself to bed. He is one amazing pup. The easiest foster in my time of hosting pups." Balto's Story Balto spent part of his life living on the streets of Mexico, fending for himself and surviving however he could. Eventually, he made his way to a shelter. Unfortunately, despite his wonderful personality, he was unable to find a home and found himself at high risk of euthanasia. Thankfully, Balto was given a second chance and made the journey to Wisconsin, where he has quickly become a favorite among everyone who meets him. Despite everything he has been through, Balto has never lost his ability to trust, love, and enjoy life. Balto's Favorite Activities * Playing with other dogs * Playing with toys * Sniffing and exploring * Going for walks * Car rides * Chewing on bones * Cuddling with his people * Watching TV together * Napping * Meeting new people * Zooming around the yard * Sunbathing * Being brushed * Relaxing at home Balto is the perfect combination of playful and relaxed. He loves a good play session, but he's equally happy curling up beside you for a quiet evening at home. What Balto Is Working On Balto has adapted beautifully to life in a home and has very few challenges. His foster family is helping him continue to improve: * Leash manners * Counter surfing habits * Basic household routines He is house-trained, crate-trained, and eager to please. Balto is food motivated, gentle, and easy to work with, making him a wonderful companion for families of all experience levels. Balto's Ideal Home Balto is incredibly adaptable and would thrive in many different types of homes, including: * First-time dog owners * Families with children * Homes with other dogs * Homes with cats * Active families * More relaxed households looking for a companion Balto absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys having canine friends to play with. He also does well with cats and has shown that he can peacefully coexist with them. He adores children and is especially gentle with younger kids, making him a wonderful family dog. Why You'll Love Balto Balto is one of those rare dogs who seems to love everyone and everything. He is affectionate without being demanding. Playful without being overwhelming. Gentle without being timid. Whether he's making you laugh with his goofy personality, soaking up the sunshine, cuddling on the couch, or putting himself to bed at night like a perfect gentleman, Balto has a way of making every day a little brighter. His journey has been remarkable, but his favorite chapter is still waiting to be written. Could that chapter be with you? Apply to adopt at tailsofhopewi.org Fostered in Black River Falls, WI. Story
Signy is a beautiful mix of Norwegian Elkhound, Husky, and German Shepherd, born in December 2023. She is a friendly, social girl who enjoys meeting people and gets along well with other dogs, cats, and children.Because of her prey drive, Signy will need a home without livestock or chickens. She also loves to explore, so a secure fenced yard or safe tie-out setup will be important to keep her safe. With her intelligent and active breed mix, Signy will thrive with a family that can provide regular exercise, mental enrichment, and plenty of companionship. She was house- and crate-trained as a puppy, but since she has been living outdoors, she will likely need a refresher on indoor routines and house manners.Signy would make a wonderful companion for an active home ready to give her the structure, attention, and love she deserves.I come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle me into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours (Monday-Friday)
