Story
Hi, I'm Jaycee! I'm a 2-year-old female husky/shepherd mix. I am current on my vaccines, heartworm tested, spayed, and microchipped. 3 words that describe me: Shy, Curious, Loyal Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: I am the sweetest and calmest girl you'll ever meet! I don't require a whole lot to make me happy, I just want to be with my humans. I would love an owner that works from home so I can be with them all the time! I was very shy when I first came to CRHS, but I've made tons of progress. With that being said I would still appreciate someone to help me come out of my shell a little more! Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 5/10 Housetraining Status: I have been very good at keeping my kennel clean, but it may take me some time to adjust to the schedule in my new home. I should do well in a home: I should be fine with children of all ages given proper supervision. I should do fine with other dogs given proper introductions and time to adjust. My friends at CRHS are unsure how I would do with cats. My favorite activities are: My favorite thing in the world is being with my human! Things I need work on are: Confidence building and basic commands Any special needs: N/A Doggy day out notes: "Jaycee did marvelous on her DD outing! She is a very sweet, friendly, calm and quiet little gal who makes for a perfect pup and great leash walker. Jaycee likes quiet places to hang out at and she loves to lounge, nap and gnaw on a smoked bone! I have no doubt that Jaycee will do amazing in a home environment and she is very ready to make that next step. Luv this gal🩷💜" " Jaycee did amazing on her DD outing! We had a very calm, quiet and enjoyable walks together. This gal loves pup cups, car rides and walks! Jaycee is such a perfect gal having out and my favorite at the shelter💜" "Jaycee did amazing on her DD outing! It's always a relaxing, low key outing with her. Jaycee exudes calm, quiet energy and she excels at leash walking where she will calmly be at your side or behind you. She is such an easy pup to have on outings and very perfect as well. She will do amazing in a home environment 🩷" Daycare Status: N/A My adoption fee is: $300 Training Requirement if applicable: N/A *If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Story
We adopted Harka from a shelter 5 years ago. She is a loving dog who loves to go for walks and be outside. She is great with kids. She is okay with some dogs, not sure about cats. She is a senior and has been needing to pee a lot more often and we just can't keep up with taking her out so much when we have a small child and baby on the way. We are away at work most of the day. She is well behaved otherwise.

Story
Meet Konan! Konan is approximately 4 1/2 years old and is a Husky mix. Unfortunately, Konan was removed from a home after being kept in unlivable conditions and not able to be outside for activity. Because of this, we're hoping to find him a family who can show him just how wonderful life can be! He was kept in a crate that was far too small for him, forcing him to live lying down or stand crouched over. He had parasites and G.I. bacteria, so he was treated immediately upon coming to us so that he could start to feel better. None of this mistreatment or neglect has stopped Konan from LOVING people. He's an absolute sweetheart who loves everyone he meets. One of his favorite things is belly rubs & he's very affectionate. Konan is great at keeping his kennel clean, so we think he'll pick up on the new potty training schedule with consistency and patience. He's playful and will entertain himself with a tennis ball and pile of snow with no complaints. He loves toys, interacting with people, and should do well around big dogs given a proper introduction & supervision (he may prefer female dogs, but that is not necessarily set in stone). He is not recommended to live with cats or small dogs due to his prey drive. Konan has a nice moderate energy level, meaning he'd be ideal for someone who wants to be outside to exercise every day, but on a nice day he'd likely love to hang outside in the backyard or snuggle with you on the couch. As most folks with a history of Husky ownership know, it's important that Konan has safe containment anytime he's outside. This breed is famous for being adventurous and clever, so a leash, tie-out or fence is best to keep him safe. One thing to note: Konan has a severe over-bite. While it's one of the cutest things you'll ever see, it was causing his bottom canine teeth to make contact & puncture the roof of his mouth. Our vet was able to provide him with the surgery to repair this, which was removing his bottom canines. He can now live without the pain & potential effects of this condition, while still maintaining his adorable overbite.Konan has been through so much in his life so far, and we cannot wait to find him someone who loves how goofy and loving this breed can be. If you'd like to meet Konan, we are doing all meet n' greets BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an adoption application has been generally approved: https://monroecountydogshelter.com/apply-adopt.html Konan is neutered & fully vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200

Story
My name is Hollywood Rose. I came to the shelter with my daughter, Melrose Ruby. We came off the Amish puppy mill farm. She has been adopted and I am still working on socializing, but have come a long way. A fenced in yard is required as I am a big flight risk . I am rather shy and would need several meet and greets to feel more comfortable. I love long walks with my special shelter person and have a few volunteers that are super cool and fun to be with! I haven't been the most fond of meeting other dogs thus far.
