Story
Bosco is your ready-made adventure buddy—the kind of dog who's always excited to hit the trail and explore the world by your side. He enjoys regular hikes, loves being outdoors, and thrives in an active home where he can stay engaged both physically and mentally.Like a true husky, Bosco has a big personality to match his good looks. He's expressive, vocal, and loves interacting with his people. While he used to be quite mouthy when excited, he has made tremendous progress and is much gentler these days.Bosco is social, active, and enjoys being around both people and other dogs. One of his favorite things is meeting new people, and sometimes he gets so excited to say hello that he forgets to listen. Because of this, he's still working on his off-leash recall and currently enjoys his hiking adventures on a long line while continuing to build reliability. He's affectionate in his own husky way and forms strong bonds with his people, but he's not a dog who's content to spend the day on the couch. Bosco is happiest when he has a job to do, a trail to explore, or an adventure planned.Bosco would do best with:• An active lifestyle• A structured home environment• Continued, consistent training• Plenty of daily exercise and mental enrichment• An adopter committed to helping him continue building his recall skillsBecause of his enthusiastic greeting style and energy level, we would not recommend a home with young children.Bosco previously lived in a home with cats but is not currently being fostered with them. Any introductions should be slow and carefully managed.Bosco is looking for a home that appreciates the intelligence, energy, and personality that make huskies so special. If you're searching for a loyal adventure partner who will keep life interesting, Bosco may be your perfect match. If you’re looking for a hiking partner, trail companion, and a dog with a fun, talkative personality, Bosco might just be your perfect match. Before adoption, all Boxers and Buddies dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date with age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped. All dogs are fostered in a foster home where they are treated like family - practicing socialization skills. After you submit an application, our team will review it and contact you within 24 hours. The process includes an interview, home check, and meet-and-greet (all household dogs must attend). If you rent, we’ll need to verify that your lease allows dogs. Approved adopters are required to complete a training course with a certified positive reinforcement trainer. We require professional obedience training from a certified trainer for ALL adoptions. Story
Belgium is a Husky puppy who has already experienced far more than any puppy should. One of our volunteers found Belgium at Lyon County Shelter completely shut down and alone. We knew that wasn’t the place for this sweet boy, so he came into foster care where he is finally getting to experience something new: patience, love, safety and human attention.Belgium is quiet in his foster home and is slowly learning that people can be trusted. He gets along well with other dogs and cats in his foster home. When it comes to humans, though, he needs a little time. He is slow to approach and needs someone who will let him come out of his shell at his own pace.We expect Belgium to grow into a large Husky, so his future family should be prepared for a big, energetic dog who will need continued training, exercise and plenty of love.Belgium isn’t looking for someone who expects an instant connection. He’s looking for someone who understands that trust is earned, especially by a puppy who hasn’t had much reason to trust before. And once Belgium opens up, we think he is going to be something truly special. ❤️If you have the patience, kindness and love to help Belgium discover what being a puppy is supposed to feel like, he may be the boy you’ve been waiting for.We require professional obedience training from a certified trainer for ALL adoptions. Story
Mateo is a handsome Siberian Husky with stunning blue eyes and a gentle soul. At approximately 3–4 years old and around 70 pounds, he's the perfect combination of beauty and companionship. His foster describes him as an absolute dream dog. Mateo is well-mannered, easygoing, and enjoys being close to his people. He knows commands such as sit, shake, and come, and he walks nicely on leash. He's respectful of his belongings, does well in his kennel, and has shown no food aggression around other dogs.Mateo gets along well with other dogs and tends to be calm and neutral when meeting new canine friends. While he enjoys the company of other dogs, he is also the type of dog who would thrive as a beloved companion for someone who works from home, is retired, or simply wants a loyal best friend by their side.Like many Huskies, Mateo forms strong bonds with his people and can experience some separation anxiety. He will do best with a family that understands his need for companionship and can help him continue building confidence when left alone.Mateo's story hasn't always been easy. He was found as a stray, and during his time on his own, flies repeatedly bit his ears, leaving them irritated and damaged. With proper care, TLC, and a safe place to call home, his ears are healing and his future is looking much brighter.Mateo is ready to leave his past behind and find the loving family he deserves. If you're looking for a loyal, sweet, and incredibly handsome companion, Mateo may be the perfect match for you. Before adoption, all Boxers and Buddies dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date with age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped.
