It's True, I Act Like a Husky!Bear was born about December 16, 2017 and weighs about 35 lbs. We must let you know right away that if you don't have Husky experience (in your adult life) your application will not be considered. Bear is mixed, which shrunk his size, but he still has a whole Husky personality and has been nippy with humans entering the home and with the kids that were friends of his kids. He did love his kids and they could do anything to him, but going forward no children in his next home, please. He is one of those dogs that when company comes you will need to crate him or put him in a separate room and get your guests settled before he meets them and if you are walking on a street you will need to be wary of humans, and children, approaching him too quickly and too close since he really is quite stunning in appearance and humans are going to want to touch him. Let's get the other negative out of the way - this boy SHEDS!!! The good thing is that he adores being brushed and since he came to us very matted we had to shave him and he was SO wonderful about it as he sat on the woman's lap as she relieved him of A LOT of fur! Bear has too much interest in cats to live with any comfortably. Now for the good part - he loves car rides and is wonderful with other dogs and loves playing with them and is on the gentle side. Bear moved in quickly and realized he lived here now and he adores all of us and we ADORE him! He is a very quite guy and if he has something to say it's in the 'wooo-wooo' language and he is SO smart! He listens to you and when you are talking to him you can tell in his gorgeous eyes that he is all about you and trying so hard to understand everything. When treats are being handed out he lays quietly waiting for you to notice him and be sure to give him one. Oh, and he LOVES water! He loves to be in it and on it - boats, paddle boards, kayaks - he can do it all!!! Someone (has to be the right someone) is going to love this boy to the moon and back! The Adoption Fee for this dog is $400.00. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY. Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Snow was born about February 13, 2024 and may top out in the 55 lb. range. This long-legged beauty is very unusual looking and we feel her behavior is somewhat Husky and appearance is somewhat GSD and then there is some gray/black spotting on her skin which shows through her white fur - she's unique! We also feel her butt is taller than her front which could be from a herding type breed. Her personality is just FUN! When meeting the other dogs it was all about play and so many of them were very attracted to her and they all took turns playing until she was simply tired out. Her first day here was a blast for her, the other dogs, and us watching the antics! Snow rides well in the car and she does fine on leash. We feel this girl likely needs a fenced yard and surely another really fun dog to be her BFF! She is not much of a barker which we love. One negative is that she will counter surf as we found a banana on the floor that where she ate most of it omitting the peeling - funny girl! No matter what time of year it is: Let is Snow, let it Snow, let it Snow! The Adoption Fee for this dog is $_500.00_. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. Meet Sheeta! She’s a very sweet and loving girl who loves treats and pets. Though she can be skittish at first when meeting people, she warms up very quickly. Need's lots of room to run around and would prefer a home without any animals (cats, dogs). She does have a brother but they aren’t bonded and shouldn’t be in the same home anymore. They have some rising issues which will take time to fix unless you’re willing to put in the effort. But other than that she a great campaign, a little princess who loves to be spoiled!

FLUFF recently turned a year old and is very friendly and playful. Gorgeous and good with all dogs he's been around. He was returned after 4 months after very torn feelings from his adopter. He's reportedly a wonderful, friendly, great dog, and his only issue is that he was becoming destructive in the crate when they'd leave the home. He'd find a way to move the crate near things he could get into and chew on whenever they were leaving him. If people are home when he's crated, he seemed to do fine, like overnights. But if they crated him and left the house, he was getting very anxious, and as they adopted him as a puppy, they definitely wanted to crate him when they left to ensure he wouldn't get into mischief. They feel he'd do better with someone who's around home more often. He loves cats and his "yes" he's good with cats comes with a "but"... he can be a little rough playing with them at times, but never with an inch of aggression. With a dog-savvy cat, he'd likely be fine. He loves chew toys, especially chew rings, and enjoys walks with minimal pulling, as well as car rides. Fully vetted. 👉 Adoption fee INCLUDES: all vetting to age (including deworming, flea & tick etc), spay/neuter and microchip (if the dog is under 6 months, alter and chip will occur after they're 6 months, covered in full at our clinic or reimbursed partially at a vet of your choosing). 🐾 CANELA is a gorgeous 7 month old Husky pup who needs a hero - she's lived most of her life so far in a crate and never been outside before she and 4 other pups were surrendered to rescue. Her foster reports she's a quiet, calm girl who so far doesn't play with toys and got a rude introduction to the outside for the first time in the last few days - although she's for sure built for the cold weather! She lived with other dogs and cats without issue, and was pee-pad trained for the indoors but her foster (who's had her just a couple of days) is working on positively reinforcing pottying outside. She's a sweet girl and we would offer an extended trial on her to ensure anyone interested is able to give her patience and time to get comfortable.
