Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Ellie Mae Siberian Husky | Female | Spayed | Born April 29, 2021 | 36 lbs | Vaccines Up To Date Ellie Mae is a striking young Siberian Husky with icy blue eyes and a deeply independent spirit. Rescued from an abusive past, Ellie is learning how to trust and navigate the human world. She’s loving and affectionate with adults and older children who understand canine boundaries—but she’s not a fit for small kids, cats, or livestock. Ellie is leash trained, crate trained, and knows several commands (sit, shake, speak, lay, and “go to your cage”). She loves belly rubs, car rides, and getting the zoomies! She's afraid of storms and loves watching TV with family! That said, she doesn't like being touched near her back hips and can be snippy if startled or approached too quickly. She has a strong prey drive and is not safe around chickens, ducks, or cats. Ellie can be food aggressive and needs to be fed separately. While she may get along with some dogs, she prefers calm companions and does best when others respect her space. Ellie Mae will thrive in a home with routine, structure, and someone with experience in dog behavior. She’s not a beginner’s dog—but she is a diamond in the rough for the right person willing to help her shine. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Raven! Born November 12, 2023, Raven is a spayed husky mix who's ready to bring energy, joy, and a little sass into your life! She’s up to date on all vaccines, microchipped, and Lyme-negative—healthy and ready for her next adventure. Raven is full of life and loves to play, especially with toys and a good game of tug. She’s definitely on the hyper side (as young husky mixes often are), but her sweetness and eagerness to connect shine through. She can be a little cautious at first, but she settled in quickly at the shelter and has been charming everyone since. She does well with adults, older kids, and larger dogs—but she’s not a fan of cats or small dogs. True to her breed, she’s curious and alert, but we’ve only heard her signature husky bark a couple of times so far. With her striking looks, playful spirit, and loyal heart, Raven is looking for a home that understands her energy and can offer the structure and space she needs to thrive. She’s the kind of dog who will pick her person—and once she does, it’s a bond for life. Story
This magnificent boy is BEAU. He is a little over a year and was surrendered to out pound when his owner moved and didn't take him with her. BEAU's mother was a Husky; his dad was a one stand night so we don't know who he is. Don't be fooled by BEAU's dapper looks-beneath his beauty is a class clown who will give you hours of entertainment. BEAU is a firm believer in having fun and the world is his playground. It's sometimes easy to let him get away with things because he's so adorable, but this boy does need a firm owner who will show him how to e a great dog. BEAU spent much of his life outside before coming to our pound. That said, with the exception of sometimes trying to dance in his food bowl or water bucket, he does keep his kennel pretty clean and uses his doggy door to do his business. BEAU loves other dogs, is good with kids and has never met a cat. Harrison County Dog Pound, 82900 Toot Rd. Cadiz, OH 43907 Open: Monday-Friday 10am-4pm; Saturday 9am-2pm; Closed Sundays and holidays. Out of state adoptions welcomed. Applications are available at the pound and online at harrisoncountydogpoundvolunteers, org. Apple users must access our website and submit application using Google, not Safari. $40 adoption fee. 740-942-4080
