Story
Sir WalterMaleAge: 9 yearsWeight: 65.4 lbsBreed: Husky Hello there, I’m Sir Walter. I like to think my name suits me—I’m a well-mannered, friendly, and easygoing gentleman. Life doesn’t need to be complicated. Give me a comfortable home, a nice porch to sit on, and some good company, and I’m perfectly happy. I get along well with other dogs and cats, and I’m polite with everyone I meet. I haven’t spent much time around kids, so I’m not quite sure what I think of them yet, but I’m such a gentle soul that I tend to take things in stride. I’m crate trained, though I don’t actually need to be crated when you leave the house. I’m trustworthy and calm when I’m on my own. I would do best in a stand-alone home with a fenced backyard, because I really enjoy having a yard to look out over and explore. One of my favorite things in the world is simply sitting on the back porch and watching the yard. The breeze, the smells, the quiet—it’s the perfect way to spend an afternoon. I also enjoy walks and car rides, though I prefer them on the shorter side since I tire out pretty easily. Now, about treats… apparently in my previous life I was introduced to something called people food. I must admit, it left quite an impression. My current people have tried giving me dog treats, but I’m not entirely convinced they’re the same thing. I’m still figuring those out. When it’s time to play, my favorite toy is my Lamb Chop stuffed toy. That little friend has a special place in my heart. I’m not much of a cuddler, but I do like being in the same room as my people. Just knowing you’re nearby is enough for me. I’m a quiet companion who enjoys sharing space and keeping you company. I also seem to have a soft spot for the guys. I absolutely adore men and feel very comfortable around them, so I may have had a gentleman as my person before. Overall, I’m just a calm, gentle, well-mannered dog looking for a peaceful home where I can enjoy the simple things—porch sitting, short walks, car rides, and being near my favorite people. If you’re looking for the perfect laid-back companion, I’d be honored to be your Sir Walter. If you are interested in meeting Sir Walter apply to adopt him at www.causeforcanines.org Adoption fee: $195. Must be an Ohio resident & 23 or older. Children must be 5 or older. ##2668595##

Story
Manhattan is a stunning 1.5-year-old Husky mix, 45 lbs with a heart as beautiful as her looks. After lovingly raising nine adorable puppies, this devoted mama is finally ready for her own happily-ever-after. Now that her job is done, it’s Manhattan’s turn to be the one spoiled with love, adventure, and plenty of relaxation. Manhattan has wonderful manners and an easygoing personality that makes her a joy to be around. She is crate trained, house trained, and rides calmly in the car, making her a great companion for road trips or daily errands. She walks well on a leash and exploring with her people. She gets along well with other dogs and does great with kids, making her a lovely addition to many types of families. Manhattan also knows how to entertain herself and is especially happy when she has a good pig ear to chew on. After being such an incredible mom, Manhattan is ready for a home where she can relax, play, and be loved for the rest of her life. If you’re looking for a loyal, sweet, and beautiful companion, Manhattan might just be the perfect fit. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   March 6, 2026, 11:11 pm

Meeko is generally a calm dog. She loves to walk and run. She doesn't really bark or talk (as most huskies do). She loves the being outside during the cooler/cold months. She has lived with cats, dogs, and young children. Meeko is about 7 years old but still loves to RUN. She would enjoy land.

Story
Kona We are taking applications for these precious babies. He will be ready to go to his foster to forever by the beginning of April. Husky/Shepherd mix DOB: February 9, 2026 Male Black/White Weight 3/5/26: 3.7 lbs. We pulled Mom from a local shelter on February 2nd, not knowing how far along her pregnancy was. Within a week, she gave birth to 6 adorable puppies. One of them, that we named Mocha, didn't make it. The rest of them are thriving & would love to have homes of their own, when they are ready. Husky savvy home preferred.
