Story
We rescued this handsome boy fom a relative. He is super smart and loves to play fetch. His run is beautiful like a deer. He is a loving dog and has been around other dogs a lot. We are having a cancer crisis in our family and I am not physically able to care for this sweet boy. Please consider adopting this guy for a loyal member in your family.

Story
Meet Echo - A Shy Soul with a Playful HeartEcho is a beautiful Siberian Husky mix who came to us from a tragic situation. While her original owner was at work, another dog in the home attacked Echo so severely that she required surgery, or she would be euthanized. Understandably, Echo came to us very afraid of everything.Echo has been thriving in a foster home where she has learned to trust other dogs who are similar to her in size. She has also learned to get along with a cat in her foster home, though we would always exercise caution when introducing her to cats or any dogs much smaller than she is. Echo is shy at first, but warms up to people once she knows them. Just like some people need extra understanding and trauma-informed care, we recommend the same approach for Echo. She has enjoyed meeting people at adoption events, but she has yet to find the right person.Like many huskies, Echo is a runner. This means that when she is off-leash, you can`t always count on her to come back to you. We would recommend not letting Echo off-leash unless you are in a fenced-in area. Like we said, she comes from a background of trauma, and if something scares her, her instinct is to run. If you`ve read this far and think you`re the right person for Echo, please contact us. We know the right person is out there for Echo!

Story
...Paco is a young, energetic, and adventurous Husky who is ready to find his forever home! He originally came to us after being found running around Clover Island in Kennewick. No one came looking for this beautiful boy, and after his stray hold was up, he was adopted into a loving home. Unfortunately, that home later became unavailable, and Paco was surrendered back to us through no fault of his own.Like many Huskies, Paco has a bit of an escape artist streak. If he sees an opening, he may try to make a break for it, so a secure, high fence will be essential to keeping this adventurous boy safe. He is also an active dog who will need plenty of exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation to keep his busy mind and body happy.Paco has previously lived with other dogs. During one of his meet-and-greets, he did well with a small dog, but once in the home, he began viewing that dog as something to chase and chew on. Because of this, he would do best with dogs closer to his own size and should not live with small animals. At just a little over a year old, Paco is still very much a puppy at heart. He can be mouthy and playful, which is common for his breed and age, and he will need continued training and guidance to learn appropriate ways to play and interact. He is friendly with every person he meets and, once he settles in, is a fun, spirited companion who loves to explore, play, and enjoy life.Paco will do best with experienced dog owners who understand the unique needs of Huskies and are prepared for their energy, independence, and occasional mischievousness. He needs a patient and committed family who can provide structure, training, exercise, and—most importantly—a secure environment.Paco is a wonderful, friendly young dog who has a lot of love and personality to offer. He just needs the right person who is ready to keep up with him and help him become the best dog he can be!Paco`s adoption fee is $50, which includes his neuter, vaccinations, microchip, and deworming and flea treatment.

Story
Ford was found as a stray and picked up by Animal Control on West 6th Avenue in Kennewick. He is now neutered and ready to go home today! He currently weighs about 70 pounds.Ford is a handsome Husky Shepherd mix with a big personality to match his big size. This boy is a lot of dog—but in the best way, he has so much potential just waiting for the right person to help him shine.Still barely out of puppyhood, Ford is in that fun (and sometimes challenging) stage where he knows what he wants and is very confident in sharing his opinions. The foundation is there—he does okay on a leash and knows how to sit... when he feels like it. Like many young, intelligent dogs, he would benefit from a confident owner who can provide consistency, structure, training, and guidance as he continues growing into the amazing adult dog he`s capable of becoming.Ford`s future family should be prepared for an energetic, smart dog who will need mental stimulation, continued training, and someone willing to help him learn that teamwork with his person is just as rewarding as doing his own thing.Since Ford was found as a stray, his history with other dogs or cats is unknown. Meet and greets are required with any dogs currently in the home prior to adoption.Ford`s adoption fee is $50. He will go home neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and treated for fleas, ticks, and worms. Our shelter operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Holds, deposits, and pre-adoptions are not allowed, and as a stray-intake animal control facility, animals may transfer to other shelters or rescues at any time.Come meet Ford today and see if you`re the confident partner this handsome boy has been waiting for!
